The 'Cast of Us | A Last of Us & Walking Dead 'Cast

Fans of The Walking Dead know it's so much more than a zombie show. It's an emotionally rich, character-driven series about love and loss, and found family, and the lengths we'd go through to protect the people we care about. That's what's kept us coming back all these years. (And also we like zombies.) I’m Jason Cabassi. My cohost Karen and I started podcasting about The Walking Dead back in 2010. Along the way, I’ve appeared on the show a couple of times as a walker, hosted hundreds of Q&A panels with TWD actors at conventions across the U.S., and eventually teamed up with my current co-host, the witty and insightful Lucy Hinnie. Together—with some incredible guests—we’ve covered The Last of Us and every Walking Dead spinoff, from Fear to Dead City. Right now, we’re enjoying a rewatch of the original series—with the full story in mind—and diving into the moments that still hit hard. Past guests on the podcast include Andrew Lincoln (Rick), Danai Gurira (Michonne), Norman Reedus (Daryl), Steven Yeun (Glenn), Lauren Cohan (Maggie), Robert Kirkman, Angela Kang, Greg Nicotero, and many more. And the most fun and fulfilling part of all this has absolutely been interacting with you guys and making it a conversation. So write in, send a voice message, and be part of it! 679: "Self Help" (TWD S5E5 Rewatch)

Okay, NOW it feels like the rewatch is back, with good old Glenn and Maggie, and that creepy peeping Tom, Eugene. But at least he’s our peeping Tom? Anyway, it was great having Steve Brown guesting with me on this one, especially since he has a military background, like Sgt. Abraham.  Mentioned: Jason & Karen, together again! Check us out over on Wax Episodic, available wherever you get podcasts, or at waxepisodic.com.  Jason’s interview with Josh McDermitt (Eugene): https://podcastica.com/podcast/the-cast-of-us/episode/162-josh-mcdermitt-eugene  Next up: Back to the rewatch! It’s another one of those episodes that’s maybe not as well loved as most WD eps, right? So I’m glad to have Kelsey guesting with me, who was particularly interested in talking about this one, and we really dug into it.  Mentioned: Kelsey’s podcast They Did What?! Breaking Down Wild Documentaries & Docuseries: https://podcastica.com/podcast/they-did-what  Next up: Back to the rewatch! It’s The Walking Dead S5E5 “Self Help”. Let us know your thoughts! 677: "Solaz Del Mar" (TWD: Daryl Dixon S3E7)

This finale, we think, is one of those episodes where if you squint just right, it’s full of holes, and if you shift your perspective just a little, it’s delightful! And we’re delighted to talk it out.  Next time we’ll be going right back into the Walking Dead rewatch, and we really encourage anyone who hasn’t been listening along with us to that to jump back in! It’s great to revisit The Walking Dead. We’re really having a blast with it. Mentioned: Criminal podcast: https://thisiscriminal.com/episode-27-no-place-like-home-9-25-2015/  Next up: Back to the rewatch! It’s The Walking Dead S5E4 “Slabtown”. Let us know your thoughts!
