The Kelly Kids - Part 1
This week: the famous "backdoor pilot" episode for The Kelly Kids, written by Sherwood Schwartz.
Ken and Kathy Kelly, friends of Carol and Mike, plan to adopt a boy named Matt (Todd Lookinland) from a local orphanage. They end up also adopting Matt's two best friends: Dwayne (who is African-American) and Steve (who is Asian).

The Power of the Press - Part 2
We're back for the conclusion! Peter neglects his school work in favor of the school paper, and fails his science exam. He then decides to try to flatter his teacher to get a better grade. After talking to his parents, Peter confesses what he has done to Mr. Price, not realizing that he has already read the article.

The Power of the Press - Part 1
Peter is chosen from the many applicants to be the new reporter for the school newspaper. Calling himself "Scoop" Brady, he initially finds it hard to come up with material, until his family recommends appealing to people's vanity. Writing about his classmates makes him more popular and and they shower him with favors, but he becomes distracted from his school work.

Jan, the Only Child - Pt2 (w/ Eve Plumb)
The other kids decide to give Jan exactly what she wants, telling her that she "just lost 5 brothers and sisters". In the subplot, the family plans a square dance at a hoedown party, and Alice and Carol compete by making strawberry preserves for the dance.
