Daly, Former Chairman of Global Equity Capital Markets at Goldman Sachs, Co-Founder and Partner of 25madison and Board member of the National Treasury Management Agency John was a partner at Goldman Sachs, where he worked for 32 years, before retiring in 2021. Immediately before his retirement, John served as Chairman of Global Equity Capital Markets and previously held leadership roles in Goldman’s Financing Group in both Hong Kong and New York; and served on Goldman’s Firmwide Commitments Committee. He started at GS after earning an MBA at Wharton Business School. Prior to business school, John earned degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Mathematics from Trinity College Dublin and worked as an engineer at General Electric. Post retirement, John co-founded 25madison - an incubation and venture investing firm focussed on the healthcare, AI and industrial/supply chain sectors. He is also a board member of the National Treasury Management Agency in Dublin and Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Irish Sovereign Wealth Fund. He is a member of Trinity College Dublin’s Provost Council and serves as a board member for The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, the Irish Arts Centre in New York City, TMRW Sports (parent of TGL - the indoor golf league). Martin co-founded Aberdeen Asset Management in 1983, transforming it into a global asset management powerhouse through organic growth and strategic acquisitions. Under his leadership, assets under management (AuM) grew from £70 million to £312 billion by 2016. Following the 2017 merger with Standard Life, he became co-CEO of Standard Life Aberdeen, later serving as Vice Chairman until 2020. Beyond Aberdeen, Martin has held key roles across finance and business, including Chairman of Revolut, AssetCo, and Toscafund, as well as Non-Executive Director at Glencore plc. He has served on multiple advisory boards, including British American Business and the Monetary Authority of Singapore. Recognized as one of the world’s top-performing CEOs by Harvard Business Review, Martin has received awards such as City AM’s Personality of the Year and Asset Management CEO of the Year. He holds honorary degrees from the University of Aberdeen, Robert Gordon University, and Heriot-Watt University, and is an Adjunct Professor of Finance at Imperial College Business School. Born in Malaysia, Martin earned an MA in accountancy and an LLB in law from the University of Aberdeen before qualifying as a chartered accountant with Deloitte.
