"TRUTH IN RHYTHM" - Andre Cymone (Prince, Jody Watley), Part 1 of 2

** PLEASE SUBSCRIBE ** Featured in TIR Episode 353 (Part 1 of 2): Funk, soul and rock multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter and producer Andre Cymone! Famously working as a teen and then playing bass with Prince until 1981, he went on to release a string of solo albums and produce major hits. Those productions included 1987’s “Looking for a New Love” for ex-Shalamar singer Jody Watley, also his former wife. Cymone’s own biggest chart success came in 1985 when he collaborated with Prince for the top 10 R&B hit, “The Dance Electric,” from what would be his last album for nearly 30 years.  The super exciting news is his fourth solo project since 2014, but first in almost 10 years, is upon us! As if that was not enough, it is a full-fledged return to funk – in fact, it’s called, The Resurrection of Funk. Part 1 covers Cymone's entire career leading up to his latest project. Part 2 dives deep into his new album, with a track-by-track breakdown, along with some surprises. Jam Fans Forum - Top 20 Isley Brothers Songs of All Time

** PLEASE SUBSCRIBE ** Featured in Jam Fans Forum Episode 15: This is the show in which expert panelists provide their top picks in various funk music categories. This time around we are amped up to fight the power and take it to the next phase with an eight-decades-long and still active pop, soul, rock and funk institution – the incredible Isley Brothers!  What we are dealing with here is an act whose legacy reflects and influenced the entire history of popular music itself – wow! We’re taking on the inspiring but unenviable mission to choose their five all-time best songs to yield a reasonably definitive top 20. The goal is objectivity, but as with all the Jam Fan shows, some subjectivity is inevitable. Joining host Scott "DR GX" Goldfine are three esteemed Jam Fans: musician and co-host of the Funkin’ Around podcast, Phil Jones, a.k.a. P T F I (Phil the Funky Instrumentalist); lifelong music devotee, host of the FJS (Funky, Jazzy and Smooth) with KD radio show, who’s also a legal expert, Karl A. Doss; and soul & funk music historian and producer of the Soul School Television series, Calvin Lincoln. Thanks to all of them for keeping the funk alive!  Panelists' Picks Ground Rules: - Pick your 5 best Isley Brothers songs - Isley Brothers must be the credited artist; no solo works or collaborations - Panelists reveal their picks one at a time, explain why and allow others to react. - Picks are not shared ahead of time, so everyone experiences the reveals together. - Panelists compile alternates in case someone else names the same pick first. Thus, we will end up with 20 picks in total! - Picks may be shared in random or non-chronological order.  - Picks may be based more on personal preference than historical context. Go to https://wp.me/p77e8T-3OW to listen to and buy this episode’s 20 top Isley Brothers songs.  Be sure to like, comment, share and subscribe – and let us know other categories you would like to see covered. Also, share your own choices for the 5 Isley Brothers Songs of All Time. RECORDED APRIL 2026 LEGAL NOTICE: All video and audio content protected by copyright.
