an artist summer, the art studio build & hobbit life musings

CANDYcolored studio podcast episode 256:  as a mother artist - summer is always that special time i look forward to spending with our family. i've learned that i always have a transition period lol - it's noisier and there's so much energy all the time. meanwhile, i'm super grateful for learning and growth at this time -- especially the invitation to ask questions in each area of life and to receive answers & direction for more learning. we delivered new work to the gallery (pando fine art) on park city main street. check out episode 257 for a very quick description and symbolism with these oil paintings. the art studio build is in full creation mode! this week we've got insulation, exterior metal siding as well as smooth stucco. i'm finalizing paint and wallpaper and need to decide on tile for the bathroom. immensely grateful for carl, who has been directing and organizing the entire project. it's been an incredible creative project to do together. there's some things that are familiar from building our home which is nice, but ultimately there are so many things to coordinate, decisions to be made --- and he's doing an amazing job. soo many thanks to carl as well as todd drennan (our architect), garry (our builder), mark roberts (my easel builder & designer), david dibble (artist with a similar easel), caden badger of apollo av (speaker magic) and all the amazing subs that have worked on our project. finally, i'll share some favorite quotes about hobbits from j. r. tolkein's book version of "the fellowship of the ring" - so many great things to ponder and consider. happy summer friend!!
