In this hope-filled conversation, Audra sits down with Cheryl Cardall to talk honestly about loving our children when fear, disappointment, and uncertainty creep in.  Through the New Testament story of the Prodigal Son, they explore how Jesus Christ teaches us to parent with patience, grace, and deep trust in God’s plan.  This episode is for parents who: Love their children deeply but feel overwhelmed or afraidAre learning to let go of the “perfect family” idealWant to trust Jesus Christ more fully with their child’s journeyNeed reassurance that waiting, loving, and hoping still matterTogether, Audra and Cheryl discuss how the Atonement of Jesus Christ can quiet fear, how to love without coercion or shame, and why our role as parents is to serve not to save.  You’ll hear gentle encouragement for parents of struggling, wandering, neurodivergent, or mentally vulnerable children, and a reminder that God’s plan is bigger, longer, and more merciful than we often realize. Overcoming Fear and Anxiety Through Faith in Jesus Christ with Karen Papin

In this episode of Where We Gather, I’m joined by Karen Papin, host of the Divine Worth Podcast and certified life coach, for a powerful conversation about overcoming fear and anxiety through faith in Jesus Christ. Together, we explore two familiar scripture stories - Peter walking on water and Jesus calming the storm - and look at them through a personal, lived-experience lens. Karen shares her journey with anxiety, fear, and learning to trust the Savior enough to step out of the boat, even when the wind and waves never fully disappear. We talk about what it really means to keep our eyes on the Savior, how Christ meets us immediately when we begin to sink, and why fear doesn’t mean a lack of faith but rather an invitation to come closer to Jesus Christ. This conversation gently challenges common “stay in the boat” assumptions and reframes faith as both staying with Christ and sometimes courageously stepping toward Him. If you’re navigating fear, anxiety, uncertainty, or spiritual stretching, this episode offers reassurance, scripture-based insight, and simple invitations to act that can strengthen your discipleship, trust in the Lord, and confidence before God. In this episode, we discuss: Overcoming fear and anxiety through faith in Jesus ChristWhat Peter walking on water teaches us about trust and focusHow Christ shows up in the middle of life’s stormsThe role of weakness in spiritual growth (Ether 12:27)Learning to pause, be still, and listen for the Savior’s guidance🎧 You’ll walk away encouraged to trust that Jesus Christ is in the boat with you, aware of the storm, and powerful enough to calm it.
