    Welcome to Zavvi’s Video Rewind, a podcast from Zavvi - the home of pop culture.  Together we will be digging into our video archives, discussing a wide range of cult classics all of which have recently received, or will be receiving, a new release on disc.   Each week we will be joined by a guest to discuss a movie and the importance of film restoration, and for this episode we are joined by film journalist Alistair Ryder to chat all things Terry Gilliam’s dystopian trip through time 12 Monkeys, which earlier this year received a new release from Arrow Video, including a Zavvi exclusive steelbook.   A cult classic, the film is set in a future world devastated by disease, following a convict (Bruce Willis) as he’s sent back in time to gather information about the man-made virus that wiped out most of humanity.

Each week we will be joined by a guest to discuss a movie and the importance of film restoration, and for this episode horror critic and academic Mary Beth McAndrews joins us to dive into the extraordinary 2014 horror The Babadook, director Jennifer Kent's feature debut. The film recently arrived on 4K, courtesy of a new limited edition release from Second Sight, coming complete with new artwork, a hardback book filled with essays and a selection of art cards. The story follows a single mother and her child as they fall into a deep well of paranoia when an eerie children's book titled Mr. Babadook manifests in their home.

Each week we will be joined by a guest to discuss a movie and the importance of film restoration, and for this episode film journalist Cameron Frew joins us to dive into the 1993 romantic crime drama True Romance, directed by Tony Scott and written by Quentin Tarantino. The story follows an ex-call girl and her husband as they go on the run from the mafia after stealing a shipment of drugs from her former pimp, and stars a great ensemble cast which includes Christian Slater, Patricia Arquette, Gary Oldman, James Gandolfini, Brad Pitt, Christopher Walken and so many more brilliant actors. The film recently received a new 4K release from our friends at Arrow Video, which includes a Zavvi exclusive steelbook, all of which feature newly commissioned artwork and both the director’s cut and theatrical cut of the movie.

Each week we will be joined by a guest to discuss a movie and the importance of film restoration, and for this episode we are joined by film journalist Scott Davis to dive into the 1993 fantasy action film Last Action Hero which has recently received a new 4K release, including a Zavvi exclusive 4K collector's edition steelbook. Despite being a commercial failure at the box office, the film went on to find an audience on home video developing quite the cult following. A satire of the action genre, it follows a young boy as he is magically transported to the fictional world of his favourite movie character Jack Slater, of course played by none other than Arnold Schwarzenegger.

A cult classic, Oldboy is regarded as being one of the best neo-noir films of all-time. Based on the Japanese manga of the same name, the story follows a man named Oh Dae-Su as he is released from 15 years of imprisonment, then embarking on a quest for vengeance on his unknown captor.
