Jessie & Lennie Ware
"Musician Jessie Ware and her mum Lennie turn every one of their podcasts into a meal to remember, inviting celebrity guests—from Nigella Lawson to Stanley Tucci, and Apple’s own Tim Cook—to eat and share stories. The pair say they’ve always been interested in other people’s lives (“We’ve both always been nosey!”) and that the podcast format affords the freedom to get even deeper, especially over dinner.
The Creators We Love have set the standard for mealtime conversation, and that's why we asked them to pick not only their favourite guests to the Table Manners hot seat, but also the podcasts they tuck into when they're off duty too.
Chef Lennie has fond memories of Raymond Blanc lending a hand in the kitchen (“He helped me make an espuma”) whereas Jessie winces at the memory of her mum telling her off in front of Paul McCartney: “Turns out he found it hilarious!” Below, they share some of their own podcasting favourites.
Alan Carr: Life’s A Beach
“Anything with Alan Carr is worth listening to because he’s just so brilliantly funny and lovely.”
How To Fail With Elizabeth Day
“Elizabeth Day is one of the best interviewers out there.”
Queer The Music
“Jake Shears is fabulous, and this podcast celebrates everything queer culture and music.”
The Louis Theroux Podcast
“We always want to see how uncomfortable the chat with Louis Theroux can get!”
The Rest Is Politics
“We love Alastair Campbell and Rory Stewart and think they bring a different dynamic to discussing current affairs.”
The News Agents
“We love that it is incredibly current and addresses current affairs in depth. It’s like watching Newsnight but on the radio!”
The Archers Podcast
“Mum loves the Archers, and Emma Freud is fabulous. She gets people on who are as devoted to The Archers as mum is."
