Erinome: Hello dear friends! Welcome to our podcast. Today we are going to talk about some popular online stars and their social media account problems. You know, recently there's a lot of news about their accounts being restricted. Have you heard about it, Enceladus?

Enceladus: Oh yeah! I saw some posts online. Like, Zhang Xuefeng? His accounts on many platforms can't be followed now. That's surprising!

Erinome: Right! Zhang Xuefeng is a famous education advisor, right? He helps students with college choices. His accounts on Weibo, Douyin, Kuaishou, Bilibili and Xiaohongshu all have this problem. Wow, his total fans are over 65 million! That's a huge number.

Enceladus: Oh no! Why did that happen? Did he do something wrong?

Erinome: His team said he made some inappropriate words during a live stream. You know, broke the platform rules, and got reported. So the platforms stopped people from following his accounts.

Enceladus: Oh, so he said bad things. His team also said they are "反省中" (fǎn xǐng zhōng, reflecting) and trying to fix it soon. Do you think it will be okay quickly?

Erinome: Maybe? But some related accounts, like those for family education or study planning, are still live streaming and selling things. They are not affected. Interesting, right?

Enceladus: Yeah. I remember Zhang Xuefeng was popular because he "spoke the truth" about college choices. But he also had arguments before, like saying "journalism is useless" or "arts are just service jobs". People didn't like those words.

Erinome: Exactly! Those words made a lot of people angry. So maybe this time the inappropriate words were the last straw?

Enceladus: Maybe. Oh, and there's another person, Lan Zhanfei. Did you hear about him?

Erinome: Lan Zhanfei? The internet star with millions of fans? What happened to him?

Enceladus: He talked about his income in a live stream. He said if he works hard on business, he can earn nine digits a year! Nine digits! That's like 100 million yuan or more. Wow, that's so much!

Erinome: Oh my! No wonder it became a hot topic on Weibo. He posted later, saying that was an old thing, and now he's being "网暴" (wǎng bào, attacked online). Poor guy? Or maybe he shouldn't have said that?

Enceladus: Maybe. His account also can't be followed now. And guess his fans? On one video platform, he has 24.788 million fans! And his ad price is 1.5 million for a short video, even 1-20 seconds!

Erinome: 1.5 million for a short video? That's crazy! But the news said he has 7 companies, and 5 are closed. Only 2 are still running. So maybe his business isn't as good as he said?

Enceladus: Hmm, maybe. So both Zhang Xuefeng and Lan Zhanfei have account problems because of their words or actions.

Erinome: And there's another one, Hu Chenfeng. Do you know him?

Enceladus: Hu Chenfeng? I think I saw his name. What did he do?

Erinome: He used "Apple and Android" as a label to talk about looking down on people, like because of money or education. You know, that "鄙视链" (bǐ shì liàn, chain of looking down). People got really angry.

Enceladus: Oh right! That's not good. So his accounts on Douyin and Weibo were closed, and all his posts were deleted. Gone!

Erinome: Yeah, on September 20th. So three stars in a short time. All because of their words online.

Enceladus: It makes me think, the internet isn't a place without rules, right? You can't just say anything for attention.

Erinome: Exactly! The news said this year there are big checks on the internet. Platforms are stricter now, especially for big stars with many fans. They have to be careful with their words.

Enceladus: So if you break the rules, even if you're popular, your account might have problems. Like Zhang Xuefeng's team said they are反省. That's important.

Erinome: Yeah. And Lan Zhanfei's big income talk, maybe that was too much. People don't like showing off too much, especially if it's not true?

Enceladus: Maybe. And Hu Chenfeng's looking down on others, that's just mean. No wonder people reported him.

Erinome: So what do you think? Should online stars be more careful?

Enceladus: Of course! They have so many fans, especially young people. Their words can influence a lot of people. So they need to be responsible.

Erinome: That's right. Well, it's sad to see popular accounts have problems, but rules are rules. We all need to be careful online.

Enceladus: Yep. Okay, that's it for today. We talked about Zhang Xuefeng, Lan Zhanfei and Hu Chenfeng's account issues. Remember, think before you speak online!

Erinome: Let's talk again next time. Bye friends!

Enceladus: Bye!
