100 Days

Whilst the podcast world does an outstanding job to transmit the high-level stories of emerging companies, what’s missing is the detailed account of how things played out immediately after key business milestones The ‘100 Days In’ Podcast’s mission is to document just that, the in-depth undiscovered story of a specific 100 day period, narrated by the founders themselves, providing actionable advice and ultimately confidence for people bored of the day job, to pursue what they were always meant to do! S6 E3 - Embargo App Founder: Frederik Szydlowski "It's unbelievable how far you can go if you actually care"

Sometimes you have to think, why not ask, what's there to lose, that thought raced across my mind as I was on a call with Frederik Szydlowski the other day, he was kind enough to give up some of his time to explain the blueprint for how Embargo app was formed, I was frantically taking down notes at the time. At the end of the call, it downed on me, Freddie, do you want to come on my Pod and explain this to my Audience? TO MY Delight he agreed! and here we bloody are! Freddie unearthed a problem whilst working in the hospitality industry, that many smaller businesses had no idea who their customer base was, inherently making it hard to keep connected with who's coming through the door. Embargo aims to address that issue, through the vessel of a digital wallet for paperless loyalty cards of leading hospitality brands in the UK and beyond. GENUIS!! In the context of the first 100 days, we discuss how Freddie spoke to nearly 50 venue owners or managers about the solution and demo'ing a very basic MVP, tested the product with 30 test users and looked for brands to collaborate and sponsor our initial marketing activities + much much more. It's time to go 100 Days In! Roll the tapes. S6 E2 - The Light Phone Co-Founder: Joe Hollier "If we had an idea, we tried to prove it wrong immediately so we could move on to the next idea"

It's not often you come across a founder who genuinely could change your life with their product, I don't make this claim often, but I truly believe I have with this episode. In 2014, Joe Hollier, with his partner Keiwei invented The Light Phone, which in many ways is the antithesis of the ever attention grabbing smartphone. Joe saw the issue before many of us, the issue that social media / apps were stealing more and more of our time, resulting in less time for the things that matter to us. Does scrolling on TikTok / Instagram actually improve your day? This equates to years of your life if you only use it for 2 hours a day. Years. The Light Phone aims to reconnect with what a phone should functionally be, and paradoxically has been designed to be used as little as possible. With the gained spare time, what will you do with it? In the episode, Joe talks about the components that led up to the invention of The Light Phone, along with a detailed insight into the Google 30 week incubator program, where The Light Phone was born. It's time to take a step back from the attention economy and reconnect before it's too late. It's time to go 100 Days In Enjoy the ep. https://theferm.net/ @the.ferm.london I always think, what is the next big thing in the food and drink world, surely everything has been done now? TO BY IGNORANCE, I came across Kimchi a few weeks ago, yesss, I know what you are thinking, how the hell do you not know what Kimchi is, well, ok , now I know! ANYWAY, in that vein, this week's ep is with the founder of Kimchi brand The Ferm, Rebecca Ghim. From an early age, Kimchi was a staple in her household, a way of life. Kimchi is a traditional Korean side dish (banchan) consisting of salted and fermented vegetables, most often napa cabbage or Korean radish. Maybe a line re the emotion, It wasn't until later in life, that it occurred to Rebecca that there could be a market for this wonderful food in the UK, however she was still taking a risk. Intertwined with his idea was the desire to stay in the UK, with an entrepreneur visa a prime route to achieve that. The concoction of this is The FERM, and i'm delighted To say Rebecca joins me on today ep, telling her story of how beginning, the first 100 days. Crazy to think at school Rebecca was mocked for eating Kimchi, she's come a long way since then. LETS GO 100 DAYS IN. S5 E6 - Levra Co-Founder: Emily Gill "What makes you angry, excited, alive!"

We have all been there, we are presenting in 10 mins and not really sure we have learned the material, what if I fuc* up? What if I forget my lines, a lot is riding on this! Well, it's clear that most people feel they could improve in the soft skills field, whether that be general communication, to presenting in a high pressured environment. Practice naturally occurs through real-life situations, however, what if this could be replicated in the virtual world, where you could practice over and over again without the consequences of mucking up, in an environment that feels real, but was in fact VR? LEVRA, co-founded by Emily Gill, may just be the answer to that. The Bleeding edge solution to filling the skills gap in the workplace, it's genuinely unique, and I was super keen to speak with Emily about how she created it, to bring Virtual Reality into the real world, also, just how do you even come up with that idea like that in the first place?! I'm excited about this one, I honestly think Levra are going to be huge. LETS GO 100 DAYS IN. Roll the tapes.
