1980s Now is a weekly examination of the importance of 80s pop culture and its continued influence today. We demonstrate that nostalgia alone doesn’t account for the contemporary fascination with our favorite decade. Instead, we share personal experiences and interview experts--including icons from 80s music, movies and TV--to demonstrate the “era of greed” bore the greatest moments in movies, music, television and sports. The show is equally entertaining and informative. (80s is aka '80s.)

Inteview: Lance Guest ("The Last Starfighter")
Lance Guest made his big screen debut in Halloween II, the sequel to John Carpenter’s iconic horror film. It was his appearance in that movie that helped him land his starring role in “The Last Starfighter,” one of our all-time favorite films. Released July 13, 1984, that film turns 40 this month. Listen to our chat with the star of the iconic film.

Interview: Author Steven Vass ("Let the Music Play")
Steven Vass is the author of "Let the Music Play: How R&B Fell in Love with 80s Synths." It's the overlooked story of how R&B, disco and funk were transformed by the explosion of music tech in the era of ghetto blasters and Ronald Reagan. It traces how pioneers like Stevie Wonder and Herbie Hancock inspired a new generation of black musicians and producers to reinvent music with a whole new set of rules.

Simply the best 80’s Podcast
This is an excellent podcast which thoroughly covers the 1980’s culture. Will, Kat & Jon are interesting, funny, entertaining and very knowledgeable. The dynamics between the three hosts is what really makes it work so well. Please don’t give it a low rating without valid reasons; if its not for you then move on to something else or give constructive feedback to the hosts before you leave your review.
Enjoyable, knowledgeable, fun and enlightening
This is a great podcast that manages to walk the line of celebrating 80s culture while also recognising its ridiculous aspects and examining it critically. I particularly recommend the Hadley Freeman interview.
WHAAAT!?
An 80s pod with no eps on the nighttime soaps of the era! SERIOUSLY! WHAAAT! Prime time soaps - Dallas, Dynasty, Knots, Falcon Crest, The Colbys etc - ruled TV screens through out the 80s, so why has this pod ignored them? Makes no sense. So many repetitive eps, the same subjects come up again & again, yet the soaps still ignored? Maybe the hosts aren’t fans…too bad, the soaps WERE the 80s. Take the decade seriously or stop.
