This is a really informative and interesting podcast that I’m sure any Maiden fan will get a lot out of. I’m an older fan but I think for younger fans it would make a great companion to the albums if you are exploring the band’s back catalogue.
At point of review the FOTD episode has just dropped. I’m enjoying this podcast and I’m going to stick with it, but… it really isn’t helped by the fact that one of the hosts (and there are only two, so that’s 50% of what you hear basically) has fewer and fewer positive things to say as soon as we are past POM. He sounds quite bored and dismissive at times. Dude - 1983 was a LONG time ago. You are going to have to cover A LOT of Maiden that may not necessarily be your favourite. Criticism of the band’s lower points is totally fair and deserved, and there is plenty of Maiden that I’m not keen on either past the golden era. But for the sake of the audience please cheer up. Try to criticise it with some levity rather than just saying “No, uh, I just don’t like this at all.”
Fortunately the other host is a lot more enthusiastic.
Listeners - don’t let my review put you off. This podcast is definitely worth your time and I’m grateful to both of the hosts for creating it. Please support them by listening to it or watching on YouTube. The point of this review is really to give them some feedback because I feel it could be even better.
