    Episode 32: Chilly Chilly Telephone

    Thirty Two, watcha gonna do.

This week we kick things off by discussing what our ideal gothic novel adaptation would be. Chris takes a nautical route while Hannah demands a true-to-the-novel adaptation of a Sci Fi novel.

Story time takes us to the story of Mary Timney, the last woman hanged publicly in Scotland and the history and design of the stunning Glasgow University buildings.

Episode 31: Twinkle Twinkle Perceptive Eye

Episode 31: Twinkle Twinkle Perceptive Eye

    Let’s get it done, it’s Episode 31.

Weekly nonsense chat includes Chris’ passionate argument as to why heat should stay in Hell and Hannah’s bank holiday weekend escapades.

Ms Hattie McCap then asks us about true crime TV adaptations: sometimes actors can look a little uncomfortably too like their characters.

Stories include the tale of Dr Joseph Bell and his remarkable gift for deduction. His legacy and influence lives on in more ways than one. Elementary, dear listener. And we hitch a ride on a gondola this week, as Chris guides us through the spooky tales from the streets of Venice. Bellissimo!

Episode 30.1: Do As The Scots Do

Episode 30.1: Do As The Scots Do

Don’t lose your head just yet, we’re back with Episode 30: Part 2.

Returning to the life and times of Mary Queen of Scots, we discuss the explosive murder for which Mary was a prime suspect, the ploys and plots to restore her to the throne, and her gruesome execution.

We conclude with a look at some of the adaptations that keep Mary’s memory alive to this day.

Episode 30.0: What's the Worst That Could Happen?

Episode 30.0: What's the Worst That Could Happen?

Contrary to the saying, we aren’t feeling flirty at Episode 30 - but we are celebrating another milestone!

Chat this week includes a little retrospective on episodes past, Chris’ inadvertent mocking of a Victorian mugshot (not the pasta-based snack), and Hannah running away from sales assistants.

Ms Magical Hat then asks us to think about our dream night at the theatre.

We combine forces for story time this week, as we take on the history of one of the most infamous women in history. Teenage marriage, intrigue, plotting, golfing, forbidden love, assassinations, challenging the patriarchy, questionable beards - this story has it all. Settle in for The Tale of Mary, Queen of Scots.

    Episode 29: Six-Legged Weans

    Episode 29: Six-Legged Weans

We’re feeling fine at Episode 29.

Chat this week includes insulting prescriptions, the looming threat of hay fever, and our outing to a spooky escape room. Our good pal The Hat then asks us to think about what alternative career we’d like to have (there may be a little rant in there too, just to stay on brand).

Stories include one of the greatest cold cases in British history. Can you solve the mystery of the Princes in the Tower?

And Chris takes us on a wee trip to visit one of Scotland’s most famous bogeymen. Let’s just say, we don’t think we’ll be staying for dinner. Vegetarians: ye be warned.

Episode 28: Walking Around A-monk-st Us

Episode 28: Walking Around A-monk-st Us

Worth the wait, it’s Episode 28!

Chat this week includes us a little mental health discussion, as we come to terms with the easing of lockdown. We also lament over cancelled Disney trips and chat Hocus Pocus (because when do we not). Ms McCap asks us about our favourite music videos, our choices including possessed children & joyriding hipster priests: not surprising at all, right?

Stories include what is considered one of the worst mountaineering disasters in British history and its legacy. And is it getting warm in here? It might be, as we discuss that time the Hellfire Club visited Glasgow’s Tron Theatre.
