Rachel Hollis is a self-help guru whose empire brought her immense success, but also seemingly caused her downfall. I explore the reasons behind the strong reactions she evokes, her path to the top exceeding expectations, and the damage inflicted on herself and others during her descent. Additionally, I share some personal thoughts and encourage you to consider whether the blame lies solely with her, societal expectations of women, or the blurring of lines between personal identity and brand.

She offers a profoundly refreshing perspective on home management that's far from the all-or-nothing standard we’re so accustomed to. We dive deep into KC's story, exploring the journey from shame-driven perfectionism rooted in her past struggles with addiction, to discovering a compassionate and gentle approach to maintaining her home.
KC shares how her diagnosis of ADHD at 35 played a significant role in understanding her relationship with cleaning and organization, eventually leading to innovative, shame-free strategies for home maintenance. We discuss the importance of functional living spaces, moving beyond societal pressures and the shame associated with not meeting unrealistic standards of home perfection.
Join us as we discuss how to break free from the shame cycle in home maintenance, fostering a relationship with our living spaces that supports us as individuals, rather than succumbing to overwhelming expectations.

Meedeeeeeee ,

Great podcast for helping me be a better person

I adore this podcast. It helps me keep me grounded in my very chaotic time of parenting young children. Monica’s honest reflections and insightful interviews help me become a better and more balanced person. I especially love her messy middle episodes which remind me that even when things aren’t going well, it’s always good to reflect. even in the hard times there are still good things happening. Her coaching calls just feel like free coaching for me. Thank you for putting out this podcast!

Real.

Real talk for real people. I’m not super into self-help things because they always feel self-aggrandizing and preachy. This podcast is NOT that. She does an excellent job of being genuine and real about hard issues and topics. She brings on guests that are incredibly relevant to real life. I appreciate SO MUCH the work she does on this platform!

MomClaire ,

Love it!

A really great podcast. I am new to your podcast, but I am learning so much. I am a perfectionist and, like you, that has not always been a positive. I’m taking a step back from my business to review my way forward and this podcast has been helping me a lot. Thank you.
