I am a NHS Consultant orthopaedic and trauma surgeon in the UK whose elective practice is 100 percent adult foot ankle for over a decade. I can honestly say I have not found a better educational audio resource than this. As a registrar I got the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons Orthopedic Knowledge Update 7 on tape whilst preparing for my FRCS(Orth) exam and this made my two hour car commute per day at that time an educationally valuable time. That was in 1998, and I’ve been searching for something like this ACFAS podcast that will keep me up-to-date and make my commute educational. In the UK there is sadly some friction between orthopaedic foot and ankle surgeons and surgical Podiatrists, but when I started listening to this podcast I had no idea of the set up of podiatric medicine training in the US nor was I fully aware that the distinguished faculty on the podcasts were mainly DPM qualified. I’m filled with respect for the contributors and with the content and quality of these podcasts. I have probably another 15 years of active practice ahead of me and I’m thrilled at the prospect of now consolidating as well as expanding my knowledge of foot and ankle surgery in the coming months, by listening to the wealth of knowledge and ‘pearls’ these podcasts contain. My 2 hours of car travel per day will from now on be an educational investment. Thank you!
