Advantage Connors is an ongoing conversation between Tennis legend Jimmy Connors & Brett Connors. Follow along as they cover the worlds of tennis & gambling on a weekly basis along with whatever else pops into their head that day. Jimmy Connors is a tennis legend having played professionally for over 30 years. His record 109 ATP tournament wins still stands today, & includes 8 grand slam singles titles. Brett Connors is a producer for Tennis Channel and has worked in live tennis production for 14 years. Having also traveled the tour with his father in the 80’s and 90’s this gives Brett a unique view of the sport.

Tsitsipas is back, Scheffler wins 2nd Masters, Nelly Korda dominates, & gambling problems
Brett and Jimmy discuss the recent resurgence from Stefanos Tsitsipas who won his 3rd Monte Carlo Masters last week over Casper Ruud. After briefly dropping out of the top 10, Tsitsy is back at #7 in the live rankings. Both players have continued their hot play and are again in the finals of Barcelona this week.
Scottie Scheffler continues to be the best player on the PGA capturing his 2nd Masters championship in three years, winning by 4 strokes over Advantage Connors favorite Ludvig Åberg.
Nelly Korda might be the best golfer on the planet right now as she shoots for her 5th straight win at the first LPGA major of the year, the Chevron Championships.
With gambling becoming more and more accepted in the main stream and even being major sponsors on all the tours there is bound to be athletes who get caught up in the allure of placing a bet. Jimmy and Brett break down a couple stories of athletes getting caught doing just that.

Without a shadow of a doubt this is my favourite podcast. Jimmy inspired me to pick up a tennis racket when I witnessed the greatest comeback of all times (at least in my opinion!) against Pernfors. My interest in tennis waned as Jimmy’s career came to an end. However, desperate to find something for me and my two boys to do, after the first uk lockdown, we joined the local tennis club and my passion in the sport was reignited to levels not previously experienced.
As I researched all things tennis imagine my surprise to discover the Godfather was still active and running a podcast!
I love everything about it from Brett’s and Jimmy’s opinions, which I often disagree with, but are put forward in such a thoughtful manner it’s like having a friendly discussion down the pub. Brett’s easy presenting style and gift for analysis, perfectly complement Jimmy’s wisdom and it’s great to hear Jimmy still has that spiky attitude that made me love him all those years ago. The relationship between father and son, is also a joy to experience, they are obviously very close and I hope to have similar relationship with my two boys when they’re older.
So thank you Brett and Jimmy for taking the time to produce this podcast, you’ve enriched my life immeasurably!
