Argyle winning ugly' the brilliant Alex Palmer and defending FA Cup replays

Plymouth Argyle were far from their fluent best in beating Mansfield Town on Saturday, but they did enough to see off Mansfield Town on the return of Graham Coughlan to Home Park at the weekend.
Chris Errington and Jak Ball join host Stuart James in looking back on the victory where the Pilgrims closed the gap on League Two leaders Swindon Town following their surprise defeat at Newport County.
We also discuss the excellent form of goalkeeper Alex Palmer and answer your questions, before Jak goes on a rant and defends FA Cup replays, which led to a Twitter 'spat' with Gary Lineker, of all people! For information regarding your data privacy, visit acast.com/privacy

Goal Machines, new signings and exciting times for Plymouth Argyle

Goal Machines, new signings and exciting times for Plymouth Argyle

This is turning into a season to remember for Plymouth Argyle, who extended their recent fine run with a convincing 3-0 win at Carlisle United on Saturday.
'He's one of our own' sang the Green Army as 'that boy' Luke Jephcott added another brace to the one he got at Scunthorpe United seven days earlier, which led to Ryan Lowe calling him his 'Goal Machine!'
We discuss Jephcott's impact and whether he has the attributes to go far and ask whether Ryan Lowe has finally got his chance converters after a goalscoring debut from fellow frontman Ryan Hardie. Or will he look to do further business this January?
We look ahead to the return of Graham Coughlan to Home Park on Saturday (for what feels like the tenth time this season) and the clash with Mansfield Town. For information regarding your data privacy, visit acast.com/privacy

A happy Christmas and a potentially great new year for Argyle

A happy Christmas and a potentially great new year for Argyle

A Happy new Year to all our listeners and it has been a good start to 2020 for Plymouth Argyle as well following the 3-1 win at Scunthorpe United, which ended a pretty productive festive period.
After the disappointment of the postponed game at Macclesfield, Argyle went on to beat Cheltenham Town on Boxing Day and then Stevenage thanks to a stoppage time goal from Niall Canavan,
A 2-1 defeat in front of the newly-opened Mayflower Stand kicked off the New Year, but normal service was resumed when Ryan Lowe's men won at Scunthorpe with two goals from Luke Jephcott, who had returned from a loan spell at Truro City.
We look back on that festive period and ahead to January when the transfer window opens and Argyle have already concluded one piece of business with Tyreeq Bakinson arriving on loan from Bristol City. But who will follow? For information regarding your data privacy, visit acast.com/privacy

Cambridge catastrophe, strikers challenged and the return of Derek Adams

Cambridge catastrophe, strikers challenged and the return of Derek Adams

This week's Argyle Chat reflects on a disappointing 1-0 defeat at Cambridge United, where the Pilgrims were a pale shadow of the side that had performed so well in League Two in November.
Chris Errington and Jak Ball join host Stuart James to reflect on that disappointing defeat, where questions were again asked of the Argyle frontline.
Manager Ryan Lowe has challenged his strikers to score goals, but they have struggled so far this season and with Derek Adams returning to Home Park with his new Morecambe side this weekend, Lowe will be hoping for so much more from his misfiring frontmen. Jam or cream? Red or Green? Manager Ryan Lowe reveals all as a special guest on Argyle Chat

Jam or cream? Red or Green? Manager Ryan Lowe reveals all as a special guest on Argyle Chat

This week's Argyle Chat saw Pilgrims manager Ryan Lowe appear as our special guest.
We asked you to provide the questions and Lowe was in great form as he answered most of them... from jam or cream first to what his plans are in January, this was arguably the most candid and open interview yet from the Argyle boss.
Lowe was also invited to take part in the Twenty questions, quickfire quiz, which he agreed to do, so is it green or is it red for the stayunch Liverpool fan? And is it Klopp or Shankley?
Find out everything in this fascinating chat with Argyle's main man. For information regarding your data privacy, visit acast.com/privacy

Customer Reviews

Argyle Adam ,

Great show!

Hi guys, love the show and the balanced reviews of performances. One small criticism, could you maybe relocate the room or record the show at a different time of day to the kids lunch / break. Throughout the podcast sometimes all I can hear is the kids playing!!
