Needs polishing

As a long time Autocar subscriber I was pleased to read that there was going to be a regular Autocar podcast. However when I listened to the first episode I was quite disappointed. My biggest criticism is that the presentation was quite wooden and was quite hard work to listen to. Neither of the two journalists appeared to be naturally articulate or confident in front of the microphone. I couldn’t help but make the comparison with the Auto Express podcast led by Vicki Butler-Henderson with Steve Fowler and John McIlroy who have more of a conversational and light hearted style of presentation. They also have guests to add further interest. I enjoy listening to the Auto Express podcast whereas listening to the Autocar podcast was quite hard work and I didn’t think I learned anything new or driven to buy the magazine. It would be good to hear Steve Cropley as an authoritative figure and a blend of a variety of presenters. Hopefully lessons will be learnt and practice will make perfect.
