    On the eve of the release of the second season of Mark Gatiss's acclaimed post-war detective drama Bookish, I'm delighted to share my conversation with one of its standout stars, Connor Finch. Connor plays Jack Blunt, a young man recently released from prison who finds employment with Gabriel Book, played by Mark Gatiss. As the series unfolds, the mystery surrounding Jack and his connection to Book becomes every bit as compelling as the murders they investigate together. Bookish is an absolute gem: beautifully acted, full of warmth and humanity, and packed with clever, twist-filled storytelling. Connor is a remarkable talent with a hugely promising future ahead of him. It was a real pleasure to sit down with him for a candid and thoughtful conversation that explores his journey so far, the lessons he took from drama school, his approach to researching and building characters, and the significant mental health challenges that derailed his life in his mid-teens before he found a way back on track. As impressive off-screen as he is on it, Connor comes across as modest, insightful and genuinely lovely company.
