We’re all becoming something. What are you becoming? It's our goal for you to intentionally become the person God has called you to be. We'll release an episode each week with answers to real questions that college students and young adults are asking us. Listen in as Jonathan Pokluda, Nate Hilgenkamp, and Kathy Davidson help you navigate life in your 20's and 30's!
Episode 114: Following Jesus In The Workplace (feat. John Houston)
In this episode we are joined by special guest to discuss how to follow Jesus in the workplace. John Houston has used his work as a homebuilder as a ministry. We talk about what it looks like to be used by God no matter your choice of career. As Christians we're all in ministry, it just depends on where we do it!
Episode 113: Is Following Jesus Fun?
In this episode we discuss the role that fun has in our relationship with Jesus. Many of us have grown up thinking that following Jesus will actually keep us from fun. All we know is a list of rules that tell us to not drink, smoke, or have sex. Is there more to Christianity than that? Check out this episode as we talk about whether living with Jesus makes our life more fun.
Episode 112: How To Share Your Faith (And Why You Should!)
In this episode we talk about why we need to be talking about Jesus. For many of us, we feel uncomfortable about sharing our faith and don't even know where to begin. JP gives us step by step instructions on how to ask about faith, how to share your faith, and what to do when it doesn't go well.
Episode 111: Why Pride Will Ruin Your Life
Have you ever heard the phrase, "Pride comes before the fall"? Well, it's true! (And biblical: Proverbs 16:18). In this episode we talk about the dangers of pride and how to catch it before it overtakes you. We also discuss how to have humility and why it makes you (and everyone around you!) better.
Episode 110: Can Christians Struggle With Mental Health (feat. Debra Fileta)
In this episode we talk with Debra Fileta, who is a licensed professional counselor, about struggling with mental health as a follower of Jesus. We discuss things like how to know when you need help, and steps you can take to find healing. If you or someone you knows struggles with mental health, this episode will be a helpful resource for you!
Episode 109: Honoring Your Parents As An Adult
We all know the commandment "Honor Your Father and Mother", but does that ever expire? What does it look like to honor your parents when you step into adulthood? What if you have really difficult parents? We cover all of that and more on this episode. (And with a surprise appearance from contest winner, Briggs Webster!)
No words. Becoming Something is a real eye opener.
I listen to these guys every morning on my way to school & usually instead of listening to music. The honest conversations & open topics that they discuss in a biblical way, opens my eyes. Seriously, I love listening to this podcast so much. It makes me laugh but also matures me. I need this sort of information in a world that is trying to grab your attention always and pull you away from our Creator. I am growing in knowledge that is different to the world and understanding God, Human nature, faith and much more. Please don’t stop!! I’m a 17 year old wanting to follow God and Nate, Jp and Kathy are like my mentors, helping me understand Christianity a bit more. God bless you & stay safe, all the way from London :) - Shakana
Such a awesome podcast for young adults that covers a wide range of topics that many of us struggle with. Done in such an easy to understand and applicable way with plenty of banter thrown in. It is a massive help in my faith and relationship with God
The greatest strength of this podcast is the heart the team has for the listeners and the ministry they are pursuing. Becoming Something is a powerful tool being used for the advancement of God’s Kingdom. They layout key issues surrounding young adults’ lives in an approachable way and bring clear biblical understanding to them, offering realistic strategies to get yourself on the right path. And it’s all packaged into the most entertaining podcast I’ve listened to. It’s drastically improved my relationship with Jesus and with the church. Thanks JP, N8 and Kathy.
