My name is Eddie Kiester, but my friends call me "TeddyEd". I am on a journey to take my life back. At 42, I’m on a journey to take control of my mental and physical health. A journey I share with 70 million American adults. Fighting obesity is a lonely, isolating, journey, due to the shame and fear that go with the battle. However, it doesn't need to be.     After posting just one episode of my podcast, an old friend listened and reached out to call BS on my  whole mind frame. Its interesting after all these years, to hear someone else's perceptions of you growing up. Turns out, I had her all wrong too. As so many of us feel so isolated while fighting our body images, it is comforting to know we aren't really alone.  Bonus footage: Some parenting 101 classes at the very beginning of the episode.

    Big Fat TeddyEd episode 1 - Fat Kid's Burden

    I have spent all but 2 years of my life, as the fat kid. How did I lose 110lbs only to gain it all back?!?! I never conquered the mental issues that lead to my obesity. Come with me as I try to untangle 42 years worth of shame, stigma, and inferiority and make last health changes. I know we all feel our stories are so unique, but in reality we share more commonality to the causes of our health standings than we can begin to know.  Their is strength in vulnerability, and power in solidarity. I hope you'll join me every week to see what issues we can remove from our processes. As my bump music says at the end of every show "we make crimes out of what were just events". Lets remove a lifetime of unnecessary mental baggage together.
