Brant Hansen is from small-town Illinois, and is a self-professed nerd, diagnosed with Asperger's as an adult. He's a fan of C.S. Lewis and toast. "Producer Sherri", also a radio veteran, is from Pittsburgh, has one of the world's great laughs, and demonstrates incredible patience with Brant. Both are believers in Jesus, but have difficulty fitting in with modern American church culture. Together they have a daily radio show that is syndicated across the country, with segments ranging from the latest animal news, to interactions with listeners, to discussions about how messy life can be, and how good God is. Encouragement and fun in equal measure
Most the Christian podcasts I've listened to, while thought provoking and helpful in shaping doctrinal understanding are often not particularly encouraging. I may have learned something from it, all to often simply the host's opinions on any given issue, but I have not been encouraged, shaped or grown in Christ by it. My experience with Brant & Sherri is the exact opposite, it has been manna for the soul. While still thought provoking and helpful in getting me thinking about areas I may not have otherwise I have found it deeply spiritually encouraging since day one of listening. From grappling with the complexites of life on dilemma street to Brants eclectic musings without out fail I am pointed to Christ. Throw in all the laughter and fun and you've got yourself the formula for my favourite podcast. I cannot thank Brant & Sherri enough for their efforts in creating this show and for all the joy and encouragement it has brought my wife and I.
Thank you both so much!
I was introduced to the Oddcast through ‘Cooper and Cary Have Words’ earlier this year, and it’s been such a blessing to me in what has been an intense year, spiritually and otherwise (and I’m listening from the UK, btw) - Brant and Sherri have made me laugh and encouraged me in Jesus every time I listen in, and I’m so grateful! Thank you both, and happy thanksgiving!
I love these two.
I first heard Brant on NGEN radio about four or five years ago maybe? He made me laugh at the stupidest things at the same time as ponder the deep. I recommended this podcast to my brother and he used to listen to it on his commute to work. Before long he was playing Brant’s songs at me as if he discovered him. But that’s okay. Because it did my brother good. So who am I to boast about Brant and Sherri? I mean, at least Jesus knows I heard them first. And now, so do all of you.
