Broken Escalator

On October 5th of last year, the escalators at West Edmonton Mall shut down simultaneously due to what was believed to be a series of mechanical failures, stranding thousands on the second floor. By the time a rescue operation could be organized and mounted, nearly everyone on the mall’s upper level had been killed, and to this day few people, if any, understand what really happened during the period when that area of the mall was cut off from the rest of the world. My name is Christopher Munroe, and this is the story of what happened to me. This isn't the whole story of what happened at West Edmonton Mall that horrible day, but it is my story. This is the story of the people I met, the things I had to endure, and the lengths I went to, to survive... a broken escalator.
Ok

I was told to hang on, listen through,it will all be explained.... Well what a lot of rubbish! Story is flat and not in the least interesting. Sorry. But no thanks !
Great horror story

This is really good and doesn't deserve the 1star reviews. Sound/recording quality is a bit sketchy at times, but well narrated and the story pulls you in so you don't notice after couple of chapters.
Broken plot

Ok, so like other people, I worry about the basic premise of this story. Why can't they just walk down the broken escalators? Other than that, it's well read by the author and well written in general. Just a bit more thought needed.
Really good!

First off don't listen to the "oh why don't they walk down the stairs" bunch!! IF you listen to the whole story it will be told why people can't use anything but the dreaded escalator! It keeps you wondering why?? Why is this happening why can't they use stairs?! Ok it is far fetched but that to me is great fiction! You leave it up to your imagination to lead you though the story. Iv never been to the good ole U S of A but everyone has been to a "mall" as you Americans call it lol. So you can picture everything... That is if you have an imagination. I thought it was well read also. I look forward to more work from the author.
Erm....ok then

Not enough detail about why people couldnt just walk down....or find a lift...or just go out a fire escape. Im not going to spoil the end for people who want to listen but story seems a bit lacking. Good story telling but the story its self is made up of a lot of non-sense that seems to progress the story at such a rapid rate its comical. People behaving like they've been stuck for months rather than hours.
Awesome

I'm pretty sure this isn't everybody's cup of tea, but I definitely loved it. Gripped me right from the intro all the way to the end. Original idea, albeit bizarre and hard to believe at first, but the strangeness and creepiness of it kept me going. Superbly written with a strong hook throughout. The narration is excellent and kept me listening. At this stage I am still listening to the last chapter, so I am yet to find out how it ends. Christopher Munroe, you've made a fan out of me.
How is this even possible!

The story telling is average and the character interactions not bad but the BASIC IDEA is utter crap! An escalator is a motorised staircase, if its broken then its just a staircase! Why wouldn't you just walk down it!
