The Can I Be Open? podcast is a place where we can share and explore inspirational stories of people who are incredibly passionate about what they do and believe. Just like the title suggests, the podcast is meant to be a space in which people feel they can share their stories with openness and vulnerability, without fear of judgement, so that they can be their authentic selves. This is, for me, where the real richness and value of stories is realized and hopefully through the bravery and courage that my guests show by going to these places, together we'll learn so much and have fun doing so

    There's a strong chance that in your life you've had a brush with burnout, but the likelihood is you've put it down to other factors. Burnout is something that creeps up on us and, without better understanding of it, can be something really detrimental to our mental wellbeing. In this episode, I'm joined by Flic Taylor, a subject matter expert in burnout. Not only is Flic a complete bundle of energy, she is a coach, mental health writer and the host of the podcast 'Everyday Burnout Conversations'. We go deep on Burnout, describing what it actually is, discussing the stigmas around it, how to recognize it and how to address it.     Oli Warren Garcia is a singer and brand social media expert living in Colombia. During our conversation, Oli showed extreme bravery through vulnerability when sharing his story about his transition from living in the UK to Colombia and the challenges he faced. Oli shares that during the last 3 years, there have been times that have challenged the very fabric of his being, but this has sent him down a path of self discovery and self work, that has allowed him to uncover parts of himself and life he's never experienced before.     This week, I share my experience through my ACL injury. I talk about not only the tough physical toll an ACL injury has, but the emotional and mental one as well.     Simran Whitham is the CEO of FORMAT Group. A company bred out of passion, with the vision of changing the gaming events industry forever. FORMAT events are energy fuelled, nightclub events where gamers, business owners and enthusiasts come together and connect in a lively, intimate space. Simran's story is one of perseverance, tenacity and commitment. At an early age Simran was told consistently that he wasn't enough and that his chances of making it in the industry were very limited. But in the face of this, Simran chose a never say die attitude and his early experience with setbacks and learning from them, has put him in good stead today as he leads his own business, championing the values that he hols dearest. I really hope you enjoy this conversation as much as I did and come away inspired that with the right attitude, incredible things are truly possible.

    In this episode of the Can I Be Open? podcast, I speak to Nick Edgar, a self leadership and emotional resilience coach, championing exploration into ourselves and advocating practices that help us to unlock our true selves and life's potential. Nick takes us through his childhood, which was faith and sport centric, to university where he struggled with people pleasing tendencies and behaviours that held back his true self. We then explored his life beyond uni, through trials and tribulations he has faced as a person and then how he managed to work through those challenges off the back of positive action. This is a really open and vulnerable conversation, full of rich insight and pearls of wisdom, which I hope you really enjoy!
