Canceling "Link in Bio" Bots (ft. Miles Klee)

This week, Katelyn talks with Miles Klee of Rolling Stone about the annoyingly pernicious "p*ssy in bio" bots that have taken over Twitter lately before coming a popular meme format on the site. The bots have become the latest evidence that the social media site, and even the internet at large may be becoming worse. We talk all of that and more (along with the best out of context cancellations segment since Oliver left).Links:Why Porn Bots Have Taken Over Your Twitter Feed - Rolling StoneMiles Klee TwitterMiles Klee BlueSky

This week, Katelyn talks with legendary trans author and activist Julia Serano, who is coming out with a third edition of her trans feminist book Whipping Girl (March 30). This episode we talk a lot about how the internet has shaped both the trans and anti-trans movements and how trans people can help protect ourselves from the obsessed weirdos that have been radicalized by our existences.

This week we welcome back guest Michael Hobbes (If Books Could Kill, Maintenance Phase, formerly You're Wrong About) to talk about YouTuber and plagiarist James Somerton's plagiarism and the larger systemic issues that enabled it all.

Gahaidis ,

Amazing alternative news resource , joysource, critique and antidote to right wing media

Im a late listener from the UK, I basically binged about half the episodes in a week, and its partly because theres just a huge void in the representation of trans and left wing social justice issues , you seriously starts to get brainwashed by it, and I’m trans! So you start to shrink because the media is just bashing us left right and centre, even trusted friends start regurgitating the cancel culture narrative! Its so good to feel affirmed but in this very lighthearted and humorous way. Whoever is saying you don’t have anything to say is ridiculous!! I doubt you could get all this from twitter, but if you could you’d probably have to spend your whole entire life on twitter , so Im grateful i can listen to these really beautiful, friendly and funny voices give me some much needed perspective instead of doing that. Thank you ! Xx all the love ❤️

I feel like this show is the perfect combination of serious , thought - provoking content , and funny , random asides !( just been cracking up at the episode where samwise is desperate to be involved in the conversation 😂)
I hope more people join the patreon ( I joined at the highest level I could afford ) so that this can become a weekly show !
