Be it Poundlands, Charity Shops, Car Boot Sales or Bargain Bins, hosts Paul Gannon & Eli Silverman poke around in the corners of the high streets and internet to find treasure in the trash. One week it could be a studio based show, the next, a live comedy event. It could even be a location report or a scripted adventure! A few things it is, however, is rude, crude, silly and drizzled in pop culture, nostalgia and plenty of verbal violence! It has guests, videos, songs, reviews, games and dares.     Ep 493: The Boys Of Summer 2: Amber Ambling (Mono)

    (Mono Version) Whenever the UK gets a sniff of hot weather, Paul wants to make sure CheapShow is getting the best out of it by grabbing the handheld recorder and convincing Eli to head out into the heat. This year, Gannon may have pushed his luck a bit too far. A few years ago, they headed out into the sun for a boozy bunk off episode, and Paul wanted to recreate that this week, but Eli (rightly) thinks it’s a bad idea. It’s made worse by Paul’s insistence to do a bit of geocaching when all Eli wants to do is find shade and eat fatty food and drink. To say that nothing goes smoothly, or to plan, is a massive understatement as the Cheap Chaps trapse around Ruislip Lido and the nearby woods looking for SOMETHING to go right.     Ep 492: Unwarranted Poetry

    We’re back on the spinning platters trip this week, with a few more vinyl discoveries to throw your ears towards. Eli is obsessed with his first choice, a nice bit of musical poetry that folds in an infamous tongue twister into the mix. However, it becomes more apparent that what Eli actually likes best about this track, is the cover art. Yes, it appears to be a buxom lady furiously plucking a pheasant, but Eli finds deeper, more lurid images within the frame. To combat this grisly fixation, Paul decides to go full Pam Ayres and continues to drop in and out of her throughout the whole episode. Which is unfortunate. Luckily, Paul is c**k-a-hoop over his own discovery… A full album of songs from the 1980s “one hit wonders” Renee & Renato! We guarantee that these little ditties will put a dumb smile on your face. They don’t have all the time in the world, so the cheap chaps try to cram in as many shops as possible before they close up for the day. Hopefully, they’ll find what they need with the £10 budget they’ve been given… But who will get the most/best/worst stuff when the final evaluation arrives? As you can imagine, it’s never this easy for Paul and Eli, so in amongst all the shopping, they manage to get lost looking for a building Eli can’t shut up about, find out their train has been cancelled and, once again, discover that they may have a problem finding a private place to weigh up the spoils of their hunt.     (Mono Version) Back when CheapShow was only a couple of dozen or so episodes old, the economy comedy podcast was originally recorded in Cambridge, where Paul had his fill of charity shops to explore. However, despite recording there for almost two years, they’d never done a “walkabout” episode. So this week, to make up for lost time, Paul and Eli are heading back to Cambridge for a wander and a “Tat Hunt”. Not only that, but because Ep 500 will be a LIVE EVENT at the Cambridge Junction venue in August, it gives them a chance to track down and snoop about the theatre. The Tat Hunt rules are in place… They both get £10 to spend on whatever they can… Trinkets, Toys, Tracks or Textbooks, and they get to review them in next week’s conclusion.
