    Ep 8 Kate Lawlor-Lyne, Head Chef in Perry Street. Previously Owner of Fenns Quay

    Welcome to Episode 8 of Chop Chop. I am delighted to be joined by Kate Lawlor-Lyne, Head Chef at Perry Street in Cork City. Kate previously owned and was Head Chef of Fenns Quay Restaurant. Kate began her career at 16 with her first kitchen job in the Cup and Saucer Cafe, making everything from cakes to lasagnes and the best of scones.  In 1998, Kate attended CIT, whilst there she was a member of the culinary team and won a scholarship to the US. After a few years working, Kate found herself in Fenns Quay which she’d later take on and run. During this time, Kate returned to CIT to do a Culinary Arts Degree, this is where I first met Kate. Kate also taught on the Ashton Adult Education Programme. I am delighted to be joined by Lou Robbie, chef, recipe developer and content creator @littleloucooks Lou is a self employed chef that works from her home kitchen. She trained and qualified as a chef in Galway and spent many years in professional kitchens.     Welcome to Episode 6 of Chop Chop. I am delighted to be joined by Norma Kelly, pastry chef and owner of Praline, café, pastry and chocolate shop located in Mitchelstown, Co. Cork.  Norma left school in 2002 to begin her training as a pastry chef. Norma studied and worked as a pastry chef in Dublin and beyond. She has a degree in Culinary Arts with Pastry major, a Masters in Food Product Development and Culinary Innovation and a diploma in Third level Education from DIT. Norma returned to DIT to lecture in pastry for almost ten years until she returned home to follow her dream and open Praline in 2017. In Praline, everything is made by hand in our little kitchen using fresh ingredients, Irish and local where possible.
