What I appreciate about CBF is how logically sequenced it is, unlike other courses I’ve tried - Duolingo & Babbel - where it comes across as a fairly random approach to vocab & grammar, for a learner. For example, Babbel includes phrases for house buying, rather than more realistic daily routine or shopping vocabulary. How’s that practical? The lead teacher on CBF is clearly a trained teacher, who can clearly explain points of grammar. As a teacher myself, I can recognise proper teaching, as opposed to an entity which makes claims about ‘teaching’. I’m very relieved to have at last found a sensible, incremental language learning platform.
