£4.99/mo or £39.99/yr after trial
Based on the iconic, Emmy-nominated series on A&E, this show explores some of the most difficult-to-solve murders, which stymied investigators and went cold, sometimes for decades. In fact, one-third of all murders in America remain open. But thanks to dogged investigators and breakthroughs in forensic technology, these cases become part of the rare 1% of cold cases that are ever solved. Cold Case Files is hosted by Paula Barros.

Mixed Feelings

This podcast delivers compelling content, especially the captivating "I Survived" episodes. The narrator’s voice is engaging, adding to the overall appeal. However, the experience is marred by excessively long ads and the narrator's tendency to re-introduce speakers, which disrupts the flow. Despite these issues, it’s a solid choice for true crime enthusiasts.

Half of the podcast it made up of ads
Gone massively downhill

I used to quite enjoy this podcast but this year, it seems to have gone dramatically downhill. I’m sure Brooke Gittings is a very capable & bright narrator but she speak SO fast, it’s a real effort to 1) keep up with her & 2) understand her mildly drawled words. Her speech is so clipped! Sad to say, but Brooke Gittings needs enunciation lessons. It’s weird that she thinks her speaking manner is suitable for narration. Why do so many podcasters have such unsuitable speaking voices? Add to that the huge overkill on multiple ads (I counted SIX in one cast yesterday!) & I can no longer listen to it! I’m out!
Ads ads ads!!

The actually podcasts are probably 15 mins long because the rest of it is ads. The ads content are also so mismatch to the content that it’s jarring every time they come on.
