JFF Talks TikTok: Salt Lake Tribune Interviews Dr. Jennifer on LDS Non-Monogamy

It can be devastating when our partner expresses disapproval or disagrees with our thoughts and ideas.

Many of us buy into the idea that when we enter into marriage we have locked down a partner that will love us no matter how immature we are. When we don’t like the messages we get from our partner, it can feel easy to go look for “cheap” validation outside of our marriage, rather than use what our spouse is telling us to improve ourselves.

In this recent podcast episode, Dr. Finlayson-Fife joined Dave Noyce and Peggy Fletcher Stack of The Salt Lake Tribune's Mormon Land podcast (@mormonland) to discuss the recent viral "MomTok" video. In this discussion, Jennifer talks about how the lack of strong moral development in individuals can lead to vulnerabilities within a marriage.

    * Well-intended messages that interfere with our ability to create intimate marriages
    * Teaching our youth to value chastity and fidelity while celebrating their body and sexuality
    * The importance of normalizing the process of growth that takes place in a healthy marriage

    Traditions and Truth

**Tickets for Dr. Finlayson-Fife's Gilbert, Arizona Art of Desire Workshop are available HERE**

Many of our faith traditions today have been borrowed from our larger culture and are being taught as doctrine.

We have a responsibility to examine the ideas that are presented to us and discern truth from error and sort out doctrine from tradition–no matter whether the ideas in question come from our families, church leaders, or others. Earnestly seeking out truth is what fosters our freedom and wisdom and will allow us to fully access the richness of our theology.

In this NEW podcast episode, Dr. Jennifer Finlayson-Fife joins the Cultural Hall Podcast to discuss some of the false traditions that have been passed down through generations and are now being misunderstood as doctrine–topics like patriarchal order within the church and family, Mother in Heaven, equality, priesthood authority, polygamy, and sexuality. It’s important to pray, ponder, and discern your own position.
