In this second part, Miles moves from the theory of happiness into the practical reality of trying to live it.
After exploring the happiness framework in Part 1, Miles now looks at what it means to apply those ideas in daily life and legal work. He shares how he thinks about morning routines, flexibility, exercise, sleep, family, food, journaling, and focus. From there, he turns to the pressures lawyers face when trying to do deep work in a profession filled with deadlines, clients, cases, calls, texts, and competing responsibilities.
This episode also explores why doing less, but doing it well, can create better work and a better life. Miles discusses essentialism, delegation, mentoring younger lawyers, putting down the phone, and making room for right-brain activities that create presence, creativity, and meaning.
This is Part 2 of the conversation. If you have not watched Part 1 yet, start there first for the foundation behind this discussion on happiness, achievement, and the striver mindset.
