    Mekki Leeper

    Mekki Leeper

We met Mekki casually around Los Angeles, and kinda knew him, but after today's episode, he's become one of our favs! Now, surely you know Mekki from The Sex Lives of College Girls or Jury Duty or maybe you read some Hollyweird insider article about him being on the show Naomi's currently writing for, St. Denis Medical, but gosh darnit, until you hear today's episode, you don't *know* Mekki! (Unless you are friends with him already, obvi). Chatting about his Moroccan Muslim mother leads us into a discussion about how his dad "hoodwinked" her into moving to a small Pennsylvania town, some of the difficult familial issues that Mekki has dealt with his entire life, and how the Quar-phase of the pandemic gave him the space to start dealing with these things. And SO MUCH MORE! PLUS, obvi, we answer YOUR advice questions! If you'd like to ask your own advice questions, call 323-524-7839 and leave a VM or just DM us on IG or Twitter!
Get tix to Naomi's Netflix is a Joke Festival show (masks required!)! Support the show on Patreon (two extra exclusive episodes a month!) or get yourself a t-shirt or a discounted Quarantine Crew shirt! And why not leave a 5-star review on Apple Podcasts? Or Spotify? It takes less than a minute! Follow the show on Instagram! Check out CT clips on YouTube!

    Ally Maki

    Ally Maki

Holy heck do we have fun with Ally Maki on today's episode! Now you obviously know Ally from Shortcomings and The Big Door Prize or from just about 1000 other things... Hacks, Toy Story 4, Wrecked, Cloak & Dagger, but boy oh boy, you don't *know* Ally until you hear our chat! An innocuous question about Ally's Wikipedia page leads us down a rabbit hole of how she lived in an early-aughts version of a Hype House 1000 miles away from her family, and, well, we do talk about other stuff, like therapy as per uzshe, but really Ally goes in depth into her days as one of THE KIDS IN THE HOUSE! PLUS, obvi, we answer YOUR advice questions! If you'd like to ask your own advice questions, call 323-524-7839 and leave a VM or just DM us on IG or Twitter!

    Tyrel Jackson Williams

    Tyrel Jackson Williams

Tyrel Jackson Williams is in two of the best comedies of the last handful of years, Brockmire and Party Down, but waaaaay before those shows, Tyrel got his start as a child actor, playing a younger version of his brother on Everybody Hates Chris, playing one of Shirley's kids on Community, and tons of other things including the Disney show Lab Rats. We talk all about the how being a child actor psychologically screws with you, how wHite Hollywood makes you question who you are, being too queer for some black spaces and too black for some queer spaces, and how Tyrel began to figure some of this stuff out through therapy. PLUS, obvi, we answer YOUR advice questions! If you'd like to ask your own advice questions, call 323-524-7839 and leave a VM or just DM us on IG or Twitter!

Slug Life

Hi! Wonderful podcast, wonderful people, wonderful animals. Let’s get into the story. Two years ago my brother-in-law married his lovely wife in a beautiful countryside manor in England. Just a note, I’m from the US but now live in England because of my English husband. Another note, there are a lot of slugs here. I’ve never really seen slugs back home (San Diego), but these things are everywhere here - I even found one in my hair once. Back to the story. The wedding was absolutely lovely and loads of fun, and was a very typical English do - lots and lots of drinks and food and dancing once everyone was drunk enough to no longer be embarrassed to have fun. Love was in the air infecting us all, especially between the bride’s best friend and her husband. On this big country estate there were a couple beautiful gardens, one more secluded than the other (romantic). It was full of flowers, greenery and quaint British wildlife like hedgehogs, robins and butterflies (very romantic). And lots and lots of slugs. The couple decided that this was the place they needed to express some intimacy - ie a blow job (cringe gross sorry) - once the wedding started winding down around midnight. They finished up, but the friend had a terrible realisation - she found a slug in her MOUTH. How long was it in there? Did she realise before or during that it was there but decided to power through? How did it wind up in her mouth in the first place? How did she not realise before? All of these questions and more are still on my mind 2 years later. I don’t know her well enough to ask about that night, but I hope for her sake that she’s been more careful.
