    Conversation with Rector Arthur Mol

    Join Amit Choudhary, the outgoing representative of the DARE project, as he sits down with outgoing Rector Arthur Mol to discuss the project's inception, goals, challenges, and successes. In this episode, we delve into various topics, including the hot-button issues and controversies encountered during the project. We explore the contentious resource article on China that sparked heated discussions and protests, as well as the pressing need for diversity and inclusion practices within corporate staff at WUR. We also examine the impact of the current political climate on education, particularly regarding government pressure to reduce international student numbers. Rector Mol shares insights into the myths surrounding these policies and their implications for the future of Dutch education. Furthermore, we discuss efforts to decolonize education and promote cultural shifts within the institution. From addressing study association names like Heren 17, which have a colonial link, to appointing a post doc researcher to look into WUR's colonial past, we explore the steps taken to foster inclusivity at WUR.
