Dear Hollywood

It’s time to expose Hollywood. Child stardom is a unique cultural phenomenon with a notoriously dark shadow. Precocious young talents skyrocket to success only to repeat horror stories of addiction, decimated fortunes, and suicide. What is behind the toddler-to-train wreck pipeline? Why hasn’t it stopped? How are you connected to it at home? Host Alyson Stoner reveals intimate firsthand accounts alongside comprehensive expertise & action plans to change entertainment and inspire your own life path and healing. Loved it!

Really loved this podcast, listening to it whilst running and Alison is the only one who made me focus on the story telling rather than the discomfort I was feeling on these runs. Looking forward for season 2, I would def bring some parents on to understand their train of thoughts.
Relatable and beautiful

Wow, 2 episodes in and I have learnt so much that I didn’t know and was so oblivious to about the treatment of child stars. I’ve always steered my social media experience away from tabloid gossip about the “child star train wrecks” because it felt exploitative of already vulnerable people going through mental health issues and the last thing they need is for it to be talked about worldwide. At 25 I feel like I grew up alongside so many Disney and Nickolodeon stars yet it didn’t cross my mind to think about what happened offscreen, children’s bodies being touched by so many adults - even innocently by make up, wardrobe, and sound crew - at a time when it is so important for children to be learning about boundaries and what is and isn’t okay. I could list everything I’ve learnt so far but it would take the length of these 2 episodes so you should definitely check this series out for yourself. I want to say thank you to Alyson and for the other contributors for sharing this information and your experiences in order to educate others and bring about total change in the industry. Alyson speaks so eloquently and so bravely and intelligently. I am here and will continue to be here to find out what I can do to help put measures in place to stop the exploitation of children. From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for talking about this.
Oddly relatable

…sometimes it’s hard to relate to someone much more successful than you are, but so far I’m able to understand and draw parallels to what I see and understand in my existence. It’s very insightful, a refreshing perspective… Also no ANNOYING intrusive ads (yet), no ‘BetterHelp’!!! I don’t want an ONLINE therapist :)
