#019 PETER MOYLAN From Australia to MLB; Career Setbacks & Comebacks; The Glue Guy

Eric Hosmer, Anthony Seratelli, and Justin Su'a sit down with former MLB pitcher, Peter Moylan for an incredible journey through his life and career. From humble beginnings in Australia to the bright lights of Major League Baseball, by way of the World Baseball Classic, Peter Moylan's story is one of resilience, adaptability, and unyielding passion for the game.
He's a "glue guy". A glue guy is a player on a team who contributes to the team's success in ways that don't always get noticed. They might not score the most points or play the most minutes, but they do the little things, and have a personality, that keep the team together.
Listeners will hear about Peter's unusual road to the big leagues, that started in 1996 for a short 2 years before being released, and sent back to Australia where he would work as a pool plumber, fabric salesman, security systems salesman, pharmaceutical rep and working countless odd jobs before his remarkable return to professional baseball after a significant hiatus.
Peter's big break came in 2006 after returning to the mound for the World Baseball Classic, finding his grove with a 96 mph fastball in his sidearm delivery. He would go on to play a 12 year career in MLB which sent him to the Braves, Dodgers, back to the Braves, Royals, then back yet again to the Braves.
Join us as Peter Moylan shares his unfiltered experiences, the highs and lows of his career, and the incredible stories that shaped him into the man he is today- a broadcast professional for Ballys Sports covering the Atlanta Braves and one of our mainstay hosts here on the Diggin' Deep Podcast. This episode is packed with insights, laughter, and a testament to the power of perseverance and adaptability.
