    Powering the Charge for High Power eMobility | Drive to Net Zero

    This is a thought leadership conversation around the future of emobility with specific emphasis on high power charging of cars, trucks and eBuses. We want independent panellists to give their thoughts and opinions on the topics outlined below. With over a decade in communications infrastructure and over a decade in low/zero carbon electricity, Graeme is a well-known and highly respected energy industry expert. Finally, Andy Eastlake was appointed as ZEMO’s, Managing Director in April 2012, after serving both on the board and as chair of the Members Council for many years. As MD Andy has been integrally involved in the design and implementation of the latest accreditation schemes for both buses and HGVs, supporting Dept for Transport and OLEV in stimulating the uptake of low carbon technologies.".     Every degree matters | Drive to Net Zero Podcast 04

    In this episode I explore what motivated Lord Deben into the world of sustainability, his work in the industry and his hopes and wishes for COP26 and the G7 in 2021. We explore topics on renewables, smart homes, emobility. Guest: Lord Deben is Chairman of the UK's independent Committee on Climate Change. He also chairs the sustainability consultancy Sancroft International and recycler Valpak. He is a trustee of climate change charity Cool Earth, alongside the ocean conservation charity, Blue Marine Foundation As Environment Secretary he introduced the Environment Act 1995 and the Landfill Tax, which was the first such environmental tax in the UK. During this time, he also pursued environmental causes, introducing an Early Day Motion on global warming to Parliament. He was also instrumental in the passing of the Climate Change Act of 2008. The BBC Wildlife magazine described Lord Deben as the "Environment Secretary against which all others are judged". In 1997, he was also awarded the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds Medal and was described by Friends of the Earth as "the best Environment Secretary we've ever had". He has been in this post for 10 years. He is the Chairman of the implementation board of the Each Home Counts review of residential energy efficiency. He has a particular expertise in energy and the use of energy, with DPhil in the energy efficiency of housing, Nick Woolley is ev.energy's CEO, and co-founder. Nick is a multi-EV owner and passionate about decarbonising the energy system. His past experience includes 8 years running a web development company, and 3 years working for National Grid, where he also spent 6 months working in partnership with US residential solar installer, Sunrun. He loves energy networks, and has a PhD in Power Systems. David Overman is the Electricity Network Director at BUUK having held the position since 2006. BUUK Infrastructure is the leading independent provider of last-mile utility networks, constructing and operating essential utility assets in the UK. With over 30,000 discrete networks, serving over 1 million homes, they are the leading independent provider of last-mile networks. Prior to joining BUUK David was the Electricity Networks Director at East Anglia Electric.
