While anthropic tries to build a god that takes everyone’s jobs and collapses the world economy, what is really needed is a migration to rust. If anthropic was really what it pretends to be it would be fully engaged in this task along with open ai and SPCX Instead they are lost in greed and power fantasies. We should nationalise them all and make investors whole on their original investment only. God level AI is too dangerous to leave in the hands of a few megalomaniac oligarchs, dictators and cultists. It needs democratic control by democratically accountable officials so we all benefit. However useless democracy is, it’s better than having this lot and their talentless children in charge. Secondly the number of businesses and institutions needing PhD level AI is tiny and once their problems are solved many need far less of it. What we actually need at scale is secure masters level AI. Only china is providing this at an affordable price with its very capable open weight models for local hosting. You won’t hear this anywhere. But tell me, what are you going to do with a PhD level intellect everyday for then next 10 yrs that is actually useful. Try using these models on mundane masters level tasks and they go missing, lie and fail. We don’t need race horse AI, we need trotters and plodders.
