Stuff You Never Knew About Roald Dahl...

This week, Geordie & Michelle dive into the life and work of the greatest children's author of all time, Roald Dahl... If you’ve ever read a book by Roald Dahl or watched one of the films inspired by his stories, you might assume his legacy begins and ends with some of the most beloved children’s books ever written. But that barely scratches the surface. Beyond his extraordinary imagination as a writer, Dahl lived a life that was as dramatic as any of his stories. He served as a fighter pilot during World War II, survived a crash that nearly killed him, and later worked as a British intelligence agent. He wrote the most successful James Bond film screenplay of all time, caught the attention of Walt Disney, collaborated with Alfred Hitchcock and married a super successful Hollywood actress. He endured the death of a child and supported another through a life-threatening injury and even helped develop a life-saving medical device. But there's also a dark side to Dah's life that begs the question - can you separate the work from the man? So grab a brown lemonade and settle in as the pair chat the woman who went missing in Geordie's neighbourhood, Dan the Postie's new wheels, hydro facials, sound baths and more, only on Eavesdroppin’. And remember, wherever you are, whatever you do, just keep Eavesdroppin’! *Disclaimer: We don’t claim to have any factual info about anything ever and our opinions are just opinions not fact, sooorrrryyy! Dark Side Of The Moon: Artemis 2, alien colony conspiracies, Google Moon & more!

On the back of Artemis 2 safely making it back to Earth, this week Geordie & Michelle are diving into all things space… When the Artemis 2 crew returned in early April, it was a genuinely historic moment. They travelled further from Earth than any humans before them, witnessed a solar eclipse from space, flew over craters and ancient lava flows never seen up close and orbited the far side of the Moon. They didn’t land—and no one set foot on the surface—but still, it’s the closest we’ve come in more than 50 years. So this week, Geordie gets into the full Artemis journey—what they actually saw, the conspiracies that immediately started doing the rounds, and of course… the idea that there might be alien colonies hanging out on the Moon. So grab a brown lemonade and settle in as the pair chat Dan the Postie, the lady who pooed on a shelf, missing scientists and more, only on Eavesdroppin’. Messages & Mysteries: Toynbee Tiles, Kryptos, Max Headroom & Sydney's 'Eternity' writer

This week, Geordie & Michelle dives look at hidden messages... If you were watching telly on the millennium New Year's Eve, you probably saw the word 'Eternity' emblazoned across the Sydney Harbour Bridge in gorgeous cursive handwriting. Like millions around the world, you probably had no idea of its significance and this week, Michelle digs into the mystery behind the man who wrote the word 'Eternity' in chalk on Sydney's streets for more than 30 years... She then moves on to look at a strange phenomena called the Toynbee Tiles that are pressed into road tar around the USA, followed by the Max Headroom TV channel hijacking, and the strange messages implanted into a sculpture at the CIA headquarters in America. So grab a brown lemonade and settle in as the pair chat the dark side of war, Roald Dahl, Beatles songs and more, only on Eavesdroppin’. The weird world of creepy masks

This week, Geordie dives into the weird world of creepy masks... When Stanley Kubrick’s 1999 film Eyes Wide Shut first hit cinemas, there’s no way the director could’ve predicted what would come next. Not only would the film get swept up in conspiracy theories involving Jeffrey Epstein and shadowy elite cabals, but that one unforgettable scene would basically ruin Venetian carnival masks for an entire generation. In this episode, Geordie nips through the weirder side of Kubrick conspiracies before zooming out on the world of creepy masks. This includes the unsettling leather mask linked to Alexander Peden—with human hair and teeth included—plus the whole strange saga around Napoleon Bonaparte’s death mask (what a palaver!). She also digs into how “Rescue Annie,” the CPR training dummy, was based on a real French death mask... So grab a brown lemonade and settle in as the pair chat French-Canadian masked band Angine de Poitrine, water cremations, Seinfeld and more, only on Eavesdroppin’. The Real Life 'DTF St Louis' Deadly Love Triangle

This week, Geordie and Michelle are heading to Kingston, New York, for the true-life case that inspired the show Michelle is currently obsessed with, DTF St Louis... When Thomas Kolman was found in his car outside a gym in 2011, the case seemed to turn into something much darker involving a dentist called Gilberto Núñez. Firstly, the pair were friends. Secondly, Gilberto was doing the do with Thomas's wife, Linda. Then there were sedatives, strange behaviour, fake CIA documents, crazy texts... By the time it reached court, you had a jury being asked to decide whether this was a calculated murder or something far less clear-cut, and the outcome isn’t quite what you’d expect. And then you have DTF St Louis, which was loosely based on this strange case. So grab a brown lemonade and settle in as the duo chat the bellybuttons, Banksy, Jason Bateman and more, only on Eavesdroppin’. Denise Huskins & Aaron Quinn: The real-life Gone Girl?

Have you ever seen Gone Girl? This week, Geordie & Michelle look at a true-crime story of a home invasion that went pear-shaped... When a break-in in Vallejo, California, turned into a bizarre kidnapping case, Denise Huskins and Aaron Quinn found themselves at the centre of a story that police — and the media — didn’t believe. What initially sounded like a real-life Gone Girl quickly spiraled into something far more disturbing: a case of disbelief, public shaming and a justice system that got it wrong. In this ep, we look at the early morning break-in to Denise’s sudden reappearance, and the shocking way authorities handled it all. Why did investigators dismiss Aaron’s account so quickly? How did Denise go from victim to suspect in the court of public opinion? What really happened behind the scenes as the truth slowly came out? And how could a narrative take hold before the facts were fully understood? So grab a brown lemonade and settle in as the duo chat the moon landing, Chick-Fil-A, telly recs and more, only on Eavesdroppin’. Deadly Peaks: Hiking horror shows, avalanches & the Khamar-Daban incident

Geordie and Michelle head into the mountains this week with a series of high-altitude disasters — but what really happened out there? When when Michel Trudeau (son on Pierre and brother of Justin) organised a ski trip with a pal, no one expected him to be swept away by an avalanche. His body has never been recovered, leaving questions that still linger... Then there’s the recent tragedy in Patagonia, where a group of experienced hikers were caught in extreme conditions, turning an adventure of a lifetime into a hiking horror show. Michelle also looks at the case of Nicolas Vanderbilt, who set off on a hike with a buddy and was never seen again — no clear trail, no real answers. These tragedies all beg the question - who is really in charge? Man or nature? The pair also dig into the deeply disturbing Khamar Daban incident, where a group of young hikers in Siberia died in bizarre and terrifying circumstances. Did they really succumb to hypothermia? Or does the group's sudden panic, strange behaviour and rapid descent into chaos point to something more sinister hiding in the mountain ice? You decide! So grab a brown lemonade and settle in as the duo chat vibration plates, DuoLingo ripoffs, Karens and more, only on Eavesdroppin’. Elizabeth Klarer's alien lover, plus the alien-hybrid story of Raechel's Eyes

Geordie and Michelle dive into two extraordinary alien abduction stories — or are they? When Marissa Littrell was searching for a college roommate who could provide a bit of support with her blindness, a girl named Raechel was recommended by a U.S. Air Force officer called Harry. At first, it all seemed perfectly ordinary… until it emerged that Harry was a UFO crash investigator and Raechel was his alien-human hybrid foster child. Is Raechel really an alien? What strange “gift” did she give Marissa? And how much of this story holds up under scrutiny? You decide! The pair then turn to the surreal case of Elizabeth Klarer, who claimed she fell in love with a hunky alien named Akon from the planet Meton — and even gave birth to his child, a boy named Ayling. A cosmic romance or an elaborate fantasy? Is Meton a real place somewhere in the universe, or a utopian invention? From mysterious encounters to out-of-this-world love stories, there’s a lot to ponder and even more to unpack. So grab a brown lemonade and settle in as the duo chat the joys of chenille, how crabs wee, Irish Twins and more, only on Eavesdroppin’ comedy podcast.
