What Happens When Your Brand Doesn’t Fit Anymore? with Imogen from Bisou Creative

If you take away one thing from this ep: you’re allowed to change your mind. You’re allowed to evolve. Pivoting your business doesn’t always mean starting over, it means coming home to what actually lights you up. That’s what we’re getting into this episode with the brilliant Imogen! Imogen Allanson is a brand mentor and designer, and the founder of Bisou Creative. Her focus is on helping female entrepreneurs reveal the untapped potential of their business, showing them the gaps, opportunities, and fresh ideas to elevate their brands. She guides them to think intentionally about every aspect of their business to curate a full brand experience. We chat all about what it really looks like to shift your brand and offers without losing the essence of what makes your work yours. We also spill the tea about creativity, clarity, showing up as your full self online… and why your brand is so much more than a pretty logo and colour palette. The Highlights: ✔ Why Imogen moved from brand design into brand mentorship and consulting ✔ What people get wrong about branding (hint: it’s not just visuals) ✔ The balance between creativity, structure, and business brain ✔ Finding your brand vibe and voice when you’ve worn a million hats ✔ How to blend personal and professional content without the identity whiplash ✔ Why your hobbies, quirks, and off-screen interests totally count as creative fuel A lil challenge for u: What part of your brand or business no longer fits, but you’ve been scared to let it go? Write about it. Talk about it. Start making space for what’s next. Even if it’s messy. Even if it’s not “on brand.” Your evolution IS the brand. Everything's Been Done... So What? Make It Yours Anyway

HEY YOU! I NEED YOU TO KNOW THIS: Originality is a myth. Think you’ve got nothing new to say? That every idea you come up with has already been done? You’re right. It has been done. A million times. But not by YOU. Not with your voice, your stories, or your spin on it. Creativity isn’t all about pulling something brand new out of thin air. Sometimes it’s making existing ideas YOURS. And in this episode, I’m showing you exactly how to do that. The Highlights: ✔ Why originality is overrated (and what matters instead)✔ How Shakespeare, Hollywood, and your favorite creators all recycle ideas✔ Ways to make old ideas feel fresh again (without reinventing the wheel)✔ Why your audience wants to hear your key messages again and again A challenge for you: Go back through your content and find a topic you feel over. Find a new way to frame it—through a story, a different format, or a fresh example. Then post it and see what happens! Take a ‘basic’ or ‘overdone’ idea or concept in your niche—the kind of thing you think has been said a million times before—and ask yourself: How can I make this mine? Post it (even if you feel its obvious) and see what happens! At the very least tag me, I wanna see! Marketing is Saying the Same Thing Over and Over (and That’s a Good Thing)

First episode of 2025! After a much-needed winter break, I’m back with fresh energy (but a hoarse voice, lol), new solo episodes, and exciting guest interviews on the horizon. Let’s dive in! In This Episode: Feeling stuck in a content rut? Think you’ve said the same thing way too many times? Here’s the truth: Your audience isn’t bored—you’re just tired of repeating yourself. Today I’m breaking down why repetition is essential in marketing, how to repurpose content without sounding like a broken record, and why the fear of being annoying or repetitive is holding you back. The Highlights: ✔ Why your audience isn’t seeing as much of your content as you think✔ The Marketing Rule of Seven (and why you should repeat yourself way more)✔ How big brands like Nike use repetition to build recognition, and why you should too✔ How to make old ideas feel fresh again with new angles, stories, and formats A challenge for you: Go back through your content and find a topic you feel over. Find a new way to frame it—through a story, a different format, or a fresh example. Then post it and see what happens! Dare to be Mediocre in 2025

If you’ve ever felt stuck in the creative hamster wheel of trying to make every piece of content perfect, this episode is your permission slip to let go and just start posting. We’re talking about why accepting mediocrity is a totally valid first step, how overthinking is stealing your joy (and creativity), and why getting curious is the secret sauce to your most creative self. Whether you're a small business owner, content creator, or just someone with big ideas trapped in your noggin, this pep talk will (hopefully!) leave you ready to create with less pressure and more flair. What You’ll Hear in This Episode: Why perfectionism is the ultimate content killer — and how mediocrity can save you. The power of just posting to discover what truly resonates with your audience. Lessons from my Find Your Flair (messaging program) clients about navigating content roadblocks. A surprising takeaway from Wicked (and yes, Jonathan Bailey’s hips are involved). I started my business by accident

99% of entrepreneurs have the thought “I’m going to start a business” before they start their businesses. Me? Not so much. This is the story all about how I stumbled upon my business accidentally, but made the intentional effort to keep it going for 4 years (and counting). In this episode, I share my unique path to becoming self-employed and starting my own business—without an initial plan. Beginning with a pivotal job interview in 2019, I recount how an unexpected connection led me to freelance marketing work during the early pandemic, and a full-fledged business by the summer. Learning to be a business owner is an ever-evolving process, especially as I work with coaches to help me define my business goals and identity. I hope you join me for the ride! A thought excercise for you: If you were given one million pounds (or dollars, or euros, or whatever your country’s currency) to set up a business, what would you do?
