Football Daily presents the Extra Time podcast. Every week, three members of the FD team discuss the biggest talking points of the past seven days, as well as the odd niche episode exploring a single topic in detail.

Is Mohamed Salah Really Worth £400k per Week?
In this weeks Extra Time podcast Patrick van Straaten is joined by Sam Obaseki and Henry Hill to discuss whether Liverpool legend Mohamed Salah is really worth the £400k per week contract he is asking for! He will be 34 by the time he deal he wants ends, so is it really worth the expenditure? They also discuss Raheem Sterling's world class credentials, debate whether West Ham are now the 4th best team in the Premier League right now, and reveal if Patrick actually likes anyone at Football Daily..
An Alternate Look At The Ballon D'Or
It's a Continental Club takeover this week on the podcast as Dougie Critchley and Michael McCubbin join Henry Hill for a slightly different episode. With the Ballon D'or 2021 nominations being released, the trio take a look at the award since 2008, when Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo began their duopoly. If this pair didn't exist, who would have won each year instead? A lot of talk about Andres Iniesta and Xavi, naturally, but also fond memories of Manuel Neuer, Franck Ribery and Wesley Sneijder come up. Has Neymar deserved one on merit in the last few years, and how the hell did Luis Suarez not win it that one year? It's a great chat.
Who is the Player of the Season So Far?
It's a special one this week, as Patrick van Straaten is joined by Sam Obaseki and, making his first and possibly last appearance as a guest on the podcast, Sonny Snelling! Of course with Sonny on, the first topic of discussion is Spurs. Is Nuno the right man for the job, should they have sold Harry Kane in the summer, and will they qualify for Europe this season? Then they talk Liverpool v. Manchester City, arguably the best Premier League game in a very long time, with Phil Foden, Mo Salah, Bernardo Silva and Rodri all getting some love, before a brief chat about Claudio Ranieri taking over at Watford - is he doomed? They round off by deciding who has been player of the season so far. Sonny surprises everyone by naming a West Ham player. Enjoy!
Which Manager Will Be Sacked Next?
This week on the podcast, Henry Hill is joined by Zac Djellab and Joe Thomlinson as they run their fingers down the list of the managers most likely to be sacked. Steve Bruce at Newcastle is favourite, whilst Arsenal's Mikel Arteta remains with low odds despite three straight fixtures. Daniel Farke needs to dig Norwich out of a hole after six straight defeats, and Xisco be the next manager to face the chop, seeing as he manages a trigger-happy Watford side? Spurs' Nuno Espirito Santo is facing early criticism from the fans, whilst fellow newly-appointed boss Bruno Late is navigating a tricky start with Wolves. Then there's Ralph Hasenhuttl - he arrived in the Premier League to plenty of fanfare, but after three years has his Southampton side seen any progress? It's another belter - we hope you enjoy it!
Who Has The Best Starting XI In The Premier League?
Patrick van Straaten steps back into host this week's episode and he is joined by Sam Obaseki and James Waine. Perfect accompaniment for the topic of discussion today - which Premier League team has the best starting eleven? It ultimately boils down to three teams, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City. Sam is vehemently pro-Chelsea, James is a Manchester City fan but slightly more open to reason, whilst Patrick reckons over half of Liverpool's ideal starting eleven might be the best in their position in the world. And as ever, when Patrick and Sam are on the same show, voices are raised and arguments begin, all whilst James sits sniggering in the background. It's a good one, you don't want to miss it. Enjoy!
What's Next For Arsenal?
It's time for the annual Arsenal podcast! Dougie Critchley, a neutral mediator, is joined today by two Arsenal fans, Patrick van Straaten and the lesser-spotted George Wright. They talk all things Gunners. Was their start to the season really that bad? At what point does sacking Mikel Arteta make the most sense? They talk about what they don't like about the club, then what they do, giving a lot of airtime to the 'Hale End Kids' - Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe to you and me. They discuss future transfer plans and the need to replace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and how their transfers this summer have been good. Then someone mentions Granit Xhaka and the show goes off the rails; the Swiss international is a divisive character for sure. But somehow, this is actually a broadly positive podcast about Arsenal for a change. Is the future really that bright in North London?
Listen in every week. Wouldn’t miss an episode for the world
Still good but not what it used to be
Still very much enjoy the podcast. However, sometime I wish they reverted back to the older style of the extra time podcast. Pato, Chris and Joe are undefeated. My Favourite episode was the best teams to not win a trophy. Don’t really see episodes like that anymore.
Definitely a Podcast
This is definitely not a cult. Honestly.
