156: Matthew Dowse - Human Nutrition Lifestyle
Matthew Dowse
Matthew Dowse is a sports science nutritionist who specialises in nutritional therapy and dietary education. At Human Nutrition & Lifestyle we are committed to forming relationships with patients looking to lose or manage their weight, deal with chronic diseases, build bio-individual nutrition plans, reach personal goals and much much more. We are here to improve quality of life, health, nutrition & lifestyle choices.
Nutrition for athletes to find their optimal performance is a unique interest of mine, but everyday nutrition must come first. Exercise alone cannot get you into a pure fat burning metabolism. Finding the correct nutrition to run alongside your exercises or training is paramount. Some kind of exercise, especially strength exercises are a must for an optimal healthy lifestyle, but a bigger consideration is to get nutrition right first.
I'm on a mission to ensure as many people recognise this as possible.
Matthew's Top Tips
Reduce the amount of processed food you have.
Add in a little bit more exercise.
Proritise sleep - get 7-8 hours of sleep.

154: Wendy Armstrong - Carnivore Nurse
Wendy Armstrong
Wendy Armstrong says:
I have been qualified as a nurse for 26 years. The last 16 of those years has been as a practice nurse in the same practice specialising in the management of Type 2 diabetes. I had always questioned why we treat a disease of insulin resistance with drugs that increase insulin secretion or with insulin itself.
In 2015 I read the 8 week blood sugar diet book and it all clicked.
I started eating low carb myself having gone gluten-free after seeing a naturopath in 2017 to help reverse post viral fatigue then gradually I have transitioned to keto then 16 months ago to a more carnivore way of eating.
Wendy's Top Tips
If you are carnivore, you have to eat the fats - particularly animal fats.
Electrolytes are your friend and your saviour.
Circadian rhythms and the sun are important - perhaps more important than diet - Get early morning, midday and late afternoon sun every day.

Episode 155 Colon Cancer
I really needed to listen to this as recently diagnosed with endometrial cancer & soon to start radiotherapy after my hysterectomy it’s given me lots to think about!
Really interesting, fun and easy to listen to.
It’s been wonderfully refreshing listening to each episode and hearing Jackie and Louise talk about important issues with passionate guests. The podcast feels comfortable and inclusive and the general atmosphere is very enjoyable. I’ve recently started my Keto journey and the Fabulously Keto podcast has been a great help. There’s a great balance between banter and discussing serious matters such as Covid-19, healthy living and many more. In addition, it’s a refreshing switch up from many other Keto podcasts and I can honestly say I learn something new every time I listen. Can’t wait for the next episode!
Great content
I find the the content and the guests to be very thorough and relatable . The only problem with this podcast is the awkward silences between the guests and presenters. Sometimes the guest will say something really powerful but the presenters don’t respond in an enthusiastic manner and it all becomes a bit awkward.
