Getting through the 9 months of pregnancy after infertility and loss can be tougher than you might think and until now there as been limited support.

The Finally Pregnant Podcast, with host Cat Strawbridge, aka @tryingyears (https://www.instagram.com/tryingyears/) on socials, is here to change that.

Including stories from others who have or are going through their own pregnancies and are willing to share their anxieties along with what they've learnt, there will also be a host of experts sharing 'normal' pregnancy advice, but in this safe space.

Have a listen and do get in touch with any ideas for future episodes.

Surrogacy Special Part 2: The Surrogate's Family

I'm delighted to bring you the second part of this two part special on surrogacy. We spoke to intended parents Sophie (https://www.instagram.com/life.before.you/) and Jack in Part One (https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/14-two-part-surrogacy-special-the-intended-parents-episode/id1463544731?i=1000483384845) and in this week's episode we're talking to their friend and surrogate Em  and her husband James. Em is also the founder of The Mindful Birth Group (https://www.instagram.com/themindfulbirthgroup/) !

During the episode Sophie mentions a book - The Kangaroo's Pouch (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Kangaroo-Pouch-story-surrogacy-children/dp/0997394609) - which helps explain the story of surrogacy to young children.

If you are interested to hear more stories about surrogacy please head over to Season 2 Episode 4 (https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/4-donor-conception-surrogacy-so-much-more-jenn-hepton/id1463544731?i=1000464640287) where I chat to Jenn Hepton about her ttc and finally surrogacy story.

I can now officially tell you I have published my first pregnancy meditation for those who are finally pregnant. There's one for those with partners and one for solo mums. Find out more here (https://catstrawbridge.podia.com/guided-meditations) . They include breathing exercises, affirmations and a guided visualisation to help you look ahead to your baby’s birth, what that feels like and more.

Also included is an affirmation exercise using the affirmations from the meditation. My hope is this will encourage you to incorporate affirmations into your daily routine helping you to not only focus on your pregnancy today but to also look ahead with joy and excitement.

Surrogacy Special Part 1 - The Intended Parents Episode

Surrogacy Special Part 1 - The Intended Parents Episode

Thank you for being here and for all your continued feedback on the podcast. I know the last episode really spoke to a lot of you who are in the midst of or have been through PND. I am so pleased having that conversation with Sophie has helped so many of you. It would mean so much to me if those of you who drop me DMs would be kind enough to leave a review over at Apple Podcasts as it helps other people find the podcast and receive the support they need like so many of you guys are. The more people who realise they are not alone the better! Here’s the link to do it! (https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/finally-pregnant/id1463544731)

Have you been over to my insta recently? I’ve had some amazing finally pregnant and parenting takeovers happening, most recently James from @the_honest_dad (https://www.instagram.com/the_honest_dad_/) who shared the partner's perspective of pregnancy after infertility and babyloss. It was incredibly powerful. If you missed it I have saved it on my highlights and am adding others there too so you can catch up.

I recently launched a brand new event - The Hang Out Yoga Sessions (https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/the-hang-out-yoga-sessions-tickets-106383804824?aff=shownotes) - which is a unique 4 week online yoga course especially created for those who are finally pregnant. It’s going to be led by qualified and highly experienced yoga teacher Sim - @yogawithsim (https://www.instagram.com/yogawithsim/) on insta – who understands what it’s like to experience that fear of not being able to have children after being diagnosed with PCOS. Fortunately Sim went on to have a very precious pregnancy and through the 4 course will lead you all through a wonderful journey as well as give you the opportunity to have a place to check in and be supported.

One of the things that spurs me on to create events like this is some feedback I received after my Nurture Circle event last month

“Realising everyone in the space just got it and understood was an incredible relief. I hadn’t realised how much I needed to feel that validation before.”

I know that’s what this yoga course is going to be like too!

Remember, Hang Out (https://catstrawbridge.podia.com/thehangout) members receive a discount to all my events! If you’re new here the Hang Out is my membership community for those who are FPP. It’s a safe space where you can meet, chat, support and be supported by others who understand what you’re going through. We host 3 online support groups a month, there’s a resources library and members receive discounts on my events with lots more coming soon!

Right, on to today episode which is part one of a 2 part special about surrogacy. Just before lockdown I was lucky enough to sit down with Sophie @life.before.you (https://www.instagram.com/life.before.you/) and Jack and Em @themindfulbirthgroup (https://www.instagram.com/themindfulbirthgroup/) and James and across the next two episodes I’ll be sharing those conversations.

Today we start with Sophie and Jack who at the time were the intended parents of the baby which Em was carrying. I’m pleased to tell you Leo, their gorgeous little miracle, is now in their arms having been born by c section on 31st March!

Really hope you enjoy the episode. Please remember to like, subscribe and review!

    Much love,

    Wren's Birth Story

Today is Wren's 1st birthday and whilst I had planned to share the story of her birth months ago today seems very fitting! I absolutely loved reading through the notes from my Birth Afterthoughts appointment, something I recommend everyone doing, and remembering all the details of a period I look back on with great fondness - I know I'm incredibly lucky that that is the case.

rosebtrix ,

Finally found this podcast!

I have just come across this podcast and it is just what I needed to feel less isolated. I am 18 weeks pregnant after a stillbirth at 31+3 wks, and an early miscarriage last year.
My husband and I had waited for years to be in the right place in our lives - both working as nhs doctors and moving around through training as well as taking time out to travel and work abroad. So we already felt that we were behind with starting a family. Coping with baby loss / miscarriage/ fertility problems puts a whole different spin on pregnancy and shatters the illusion & external pressure of “happy radiant times”. Every day is a challenge and throw covid19 into the mix is just another step towards becoming a hermit!
I have only listened to a few episodes of the finally pregnant podcast but already it has really helped me to feel less alone. I really loved the episode with Elle from feathering the empty nest, a really inspirational and positive person in the face of extreme adversity. Thank you and keep up the great work

Brilliant, informative and one of a kind

I’ve really enjoyed this series. Great host who has an easy to listen to voice and good chat.

I’m listening to this pregnant after MC and it’s so nice to hear other mums to be who’ve gone through similar situations.

Guests are very informative and interesting.

Looking forward to series 2!

Thank you!

Cat is brilliant! So warm and open which is exactly what I needed. I found myself finally pregnant and wanting to learn from someone like me! The IVF podcasts have been a massive help and now I have something for this next stage! Informative, great topics and honest!
