Where There’s A Wilf There’s A Way! Are Celtic Entering A New Data Driven Era?

Momentum is building around Wilfried Nancy’s expected unveiling, with many now seeing it as only a matter of time before the Frenchman is confirmed as Celtic’s next manager. At 48, Nancy is known for a football philosophy rooted in modern infrastructure and data-driven decision-making - an approach he’d look to embed at Celtic if he accepts what would be his first role outside MLS. His potential appointment appears to bear the imprint of Paul Tisdale, with Celtic’s Head of Football Operations understood to have championed the move to bring the highly rated Columbus Crew coach to Glasgow. While some remain sceptical, plenty of supporters are energised by the prospect of the club embracing a fully modern model - and all just in time for the AGM. 😀 However we’ve got here, it could mark the start of an exciting new era at Celtic Park and a fresh direction for the football department. 🎙️ Join Tino, James and Paddy as we dig into all of this and more on the latest episode of Celtic Exchange Weekly. ========================================== 🔔 Want even more from The Celtic Exchange? Is Kjetil Knutson The Man That Celtic Kneed? | With David Weatherston

He took Bodo Glimt to their first ever league title in 2020, and has lifted three further titles since. Last season he steered them to the semi-finals of the Europa League before losing out to eventual winners Spurs. It’s the furthest any Norwegian side has ever progressed in European competition. And this season he negotiated qualifying to take his side to the UEFA Champions League for the first time ever where they’ll take on the likes of Juventus, Man City, Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid in the weeks ahead. ‘He’ of course, is Kjetil Knutson, and his stock has never been higher – but will he be the man to replace Brendan Rodgers as permanent Celtic manager? Ex St Johnstone, Falkirk and Queen of the South forward David Weatherston joins us to run the rule over a figure that has been one of the front runners for the role. David finished his career in Norway and now lives there and so he’s spent more time than most following the career path of a man who it seems can do no wrong in that part of the world. We discuss Knutson’s journey to date, his style of play, and what he may bring to Celtic IF offered the job. ========================================== 🔔 Want even more from The Celtic Exchange? 3. Is Wilfried Nancy The Right Fit For Celtic | With John O’Rourke

Is Wilfried Nancy The Right Fit For Celtic | With John O’Rourke

All signs are now pointing firmly towards Wilfried Nancy as next Celtic manager with the 48 year old deemed the odds-on favourite to take on the role. Currently Head Coach of Columbus Crew in the MLS, the emergence of his name has led to a scramble among fans to get as much info as possible on the man who may replace Brendan Rodgers in the hot seat. In shades of Ange Postecoglou’s appointment, and Ronny Deila’s before that, Nancy isn’t widely known on these shores and so we spoke to someone in the know to get the lowdown on the highly rated Frenchman. Dublin-born John O’Rourke has been working in US Soccer for over 25 years and holds an A License from the United States Soccer Federation. Just two weeks ago John was in attendance as Nancy put on a training session for academy players at Philadelphia Union before later making a presentation and so is well placed to give his thoughts on his suitability. In this wide ranging discussion we look at Nancy’s coaching philosophy, his own career ambitions, and if he’s potentially the right man to lead Celtic forward. ========================================== 🔔 Want even more from The Celtic Exchange? Stick Or Twist? Celtic Have A Call To Make, And The Clock Is Ticking

Celtic’s interim management duo of Martin O’Neill and Shaun Maloney made it three domestic wins on the spin at the weekend - racking up 11 goals in the process - but will wee see them back in the dugout after the international break? With no updates from the club on the search for Brendan Rodgers’ successor, fans are growing increasingly anxious about who will take the reins as we head into a crucial part of the campaign. While O’Neill’s popularity remains sky-high, most accept it’s not a long-term solution, but will the club make a move over the next fortnight? Talk around Wilfried Nancy (currently head coach of Columbus Crew in MLS) has intensified, while Kjetil Knutson, Kieran McKenna, and others remain firmly in the frame. With the temperature at boiling point, the club simply has to get this one right. Over to you, Celtic! 🎙️ Join a full squad of Tino, James, Mif, & Paddy for this one as they cover all this and more on the latest Celtic Exchange Weekly. ========================================== 🔔 Want even more from The Celtic Exchange? An early goal by Johnny Kenny put the Bhoys one up at the break before Tierney doubled the lead, with late goals from Daizen Maeda and Arne Engels putting some gloss on the scoreline against a struggling Kilmarnock side. With Hearts only able to draw with Dundee United earlier in the day the result means we’re now just seven points adrift at the top of the table with a game in hand, and Derek McInnes’ side will now be feeling the pressure that little bit more. We now head in to the final international break of the calendar year, and it may well be that there’s a new man at the helm when we return - but either way it was another good day for interim manager Martin O’Neill who’s now registered three straight domestic wins since his surprise return to the club. 🎙️Join Tino & Mif for this one as they cover today’s important league win at Celtic Park. And with four points from nine the Bhoys will be looking to pick up an important result on the road as they aim to stay on course for the knockouts stages. Martin O’Neill will forever be linked with this trophy due to Celtic’s unforgettable run to Seville in 2003, and guiding the current side into the latter stages would be a fitting chapter - whether he’s here to see the job through or not. Fresh from his exploits against Rangers, Callum Osmand replaces the injured Cameron Carter-Vickers in the squad and he and fellow in-form strike partner Johnny Kenny will relish the chance to prove what they can do on the European stage. That won't be easy however against a Midtjylland side who have registered three wins from three in the competition so far. 🎙️ Join Tino & Paddy as they look ahead to a pivotal night in Denmark for Martin O’Neill’s side.
