Which night creams will make you look well-rested, is quitting coffee really worth the headache, can emptying your closet actually bring you joy, and wtf is a gratitude practice, anyway? These are the kinds of self-care questions that wellness enthusiasts and writers Kate Spencer and Doree Shafrir discuss each week, along with a special guest, as they explore what it means to be getting older — and hopefully wiser.

The self-referential meta episode of The OC has arrived. Summer stumbles upon an actor from her favorite show The Valley and manages to get the Newport gang all invited to a party at a club in LA. Between the party and the parents enjoying a restaurant meeting with meatloaf, psychoanalyzing Ryan’s need to save everyone, Paris Hilton’s cameo, Aunt Hailey’s secret career reveal, and Luke dramatically declaring he’s done sleeping with Julie Cooper within earshot of Marissa, Kate and Doree have a looooot to talk about.

Season One: The OC - Episode 21 (PREVIEW)
[You're listening to a sneak peek of our new show Season One! To hear more episodes of Season One, join our Patreon at patreon.com/forever35 for just $5 a month.]
The drama is drama-ing in episode 21 of The OC because Anna is leaving and Seth feels bad about it, Theresa is staying and Ryan feels confused about it, and the affair between Julie and Luke continues. Kate and Doree discuss Cal’s party where the teens and the adults all mix like the totally normal grown-up parties that all of us go to, Eddie possibly being the new Oliver, the fights that inevitably happen at Newport parties and, perhaps most titillatingly, which member of The OC is good in bed.

Customer Reviews
My aural comfort blanket
Love listening to these two, they always cheer me up and I love the mix of topics they discuss. It’s kinda like chatting with friends, without having to make any effort yourself. Keep up the pod work ladies!
Miss the old format
I’ve listened for years, but the recent push for joining Patreon and the numerous teasers for Patreon-only episodes have definitely put me off. It seems that’s the primary focus now.
Entertaining and feel-good
This is my favourite podcast by far, you can tell that each episode is well researched and that Kate and Doree genuinely enjoy hosting this podcast.
It feels like I’m eavesdropping onto a conversation with two people I’d love to be real-life friends with!
