    "Education Through Community" - Create Safely- Episode 12 - February Series

    In this episode we talk about how Christy Tagatac started Create Safely and came up with the design for PotKITbook. During the pandemic Christy pivoted to create educational content that focused on infection control and proper hygiene while navigating the new normal on and off set. Through her experience of working with a cosmetic brand that's focus was on hygiene she was able to provide hope for the makeup community and would spend countless hours researching and sharing the real time information she was receiving day to day with artists around the globe. She was also helping friends and colleagues get their kits ready by providing insight to kit upgrades, products, sanitation practices, and much more. Her mission with Create Safely is to provide a platform that has free resources and to unite the creative industry. We also talk about what she is seeing on set, how to find your work flow to mitigate risk, and filling in a gap that she saw was missing by creating the PotKITbook to help artists stay organized, save time, work more efficiently, and Create Safely.    Other topics: Applying the 3 step technique which is a simple approach to navigate creating safely. 1.     "The Beauty and The Beast of Starting Now"- The Strategy of Fitness- Episode 11- February Series

    In this episode we talk about Nick (former Navy Special Warfare Operator) , Dan (PT, DPT, SCS), and Rob's (PT, DPT, OCS, CSCS) background of who they are and what led them to start their podcast The Strategy of Fitness. How their podcast is a fusion of raw experience balanced with formal training backgrounds. Their main mission which is to teach training techniques that inspire their listeners to try new things in the gym and create episodes that leave their listeners with actionable items to help them to improve.     "Permission to Stay"- SoulFire Collective- Episode 10- February Series

    In this episode we talk about how Brooke and Kat started SoulFire Collective. Their mission of connection, community, and creating a space that everyone can be their most authentic self. We talk about how they expanded and evolved during the pandemic which led to their digital library and daily live classes. How they pivoted to outdoor classes during the summer to partner, highlight, and support local businesses to bring in new customers while having a place to practice.     "Finding Strength in the Resistance"- Yami Mufdi- Episode 9- February Series

    In this episode Yami and I talk about her journey and how she created her own opportunities through her YouTube channel and fitness. Her brand Levavi, a sustainable swimwear and activewear that gives back to feeding America, how lifting weights changed her life, how to continue to showing up as your true authentic self, how to stay motivated through discipline and how to push through the resistance of starting, how she became a Tone It Up Trainer,  and how to find a workout that works for you that celebrates your body.   Other notes: -Lifting weights changed her life- she felt empowered, strong, “what my body could do rather than how small it can be” -Being so transparent from the start- how to show up as yourself 100 percent of the time and how to not fall into the imposter syndrome  -Her before and after picture on instagram blew up- People started coming to her for help -Everyone that said no is to what led her to where she is today- created her own oppertunities and created her YouTube channel- evolved into what it is now. -Yami’s clothing line- Levavi  (Lifted in Latin)- sustainable swimwear and active wear that gives back to feeding America, everything has intention behind it- they use hair ties to attach their tags which can also be used for bookmarks and their packaging can be used as a reusable makeup bag. -Tone It Up how she got involved in being one of their trainers -Workouts on instagram -How so many doors being shut on you can lead to your successes -Take the limits off ourselves -When you show up the work starts happening  -Take rest when you need/ fill up and then show up -“Motivation is fleeting”- disciple is what we have to work on to see progress in whatever way that looks like- business, fitness, spirituality  -The book-“The Artist Way”- book  -The resistance-  That moment between what you want to do and actually doing it Call it out- one step closer to being disciplined  -Working out- find something that you like- exercise/ move to have a good time not to lose weight, try different things out -Move your body because you love it, not as a punishment. -Be 100% yourself  “Movement is movement “ - so many more benefits then weight loss -Just because the world is going though chaos doesn’t mean internally we have to be in chaos. We need to find our peace- finding something to get your mind right or peace -“Movement is medicine”- just do it, take it slow, and remember that feeling after -Don’t give into the resistance of starting
