    We introduced the topic of Enneagram Instinctual Subtypes (or "Instincts") in our last episode, so this week we're talking about Countertypes. Much like our blind spots, our Instinctual patterns are subconscious and related to our drives for survival as individuals and a species. We all have three Subtypes within us to varying degrees: Self-preservation, Sexual (One-to-One), and Social. And one of these is dominant in our personality. Among the 9 Types, each of them as one Countertype: a Subtype that seems atypical in some way when compared to it's other Subtypes. Today we are summarizing each of the 9 Type's Countertypes.  . No matter what your dominant Type is, you have one dominant Subtype (or "Instinct"), a secondary Subtype you use less, and a tertiary Subtype that you use very little or not at all.
