The weekly Málaga CF fan podcast for all the Guiris out there. All the latest news and chat about everything on and off the pitch at La Rosaleda with three Guiris.
The Guiricast End of Season Awards 2021
Málaga’s 2020/21 season is a wrap and they finish it with a bang, thanks to a 3-0 home win against Castellón. We look back on our biggest win of the season, before we celebrate the season our own way with our 2nd annual Guiricast End of Season Awards. We pick our best game, goal, young player and player of the season, plus much more whilst sipping a way at some pacharán. Also, we talk about the appointment of new manager Jose Alberto, the players who might be leaving and arriving at Málaga and, weirdly, a portion of Grindr chat too.
Leggy in Leganés
Two losses in a week for Málaga carries on their bad run of form over recent weeks; we look back on our two 1-0 losses to Girona and Leganés this past week. Plus, we talk about our upcoming final game of the season against Castellón, the potential arrival of a new manager, the new teams in Segunda and the sad passing away of former player and Sporting Director Francesc Arnau.
Vinotintos in Málaga: An Interview with Jordan Florit
For the latest Guiricast Plus episode, we head to South America to talk about all things Venezuela. Who better to join us to chat Venezuela than Jordan Florit, the author of the excellent ‘Red Wine and Arepas: How Football is Becoming a Religion in Venezuela’. We discuss Jordan's adventures in Venezuela, how football has grown there and the many Venezuelan footballers who have come through Málaga over the past 15 years or so.
After a few weeks of speculation, Sergio Pellicer has confirmed that he will be leaving Málaga CF at the end of the season. We react to the news and discuss who could be the new manager. Also, we were delighted to be joined by Oviedo fan Alexandra Jonson to talk about Málaga’s 1-0 loss to Oviedo this week, as well as her dislike for Eurovision.
An Interview with...Iván Calero
We were delighted to be joined by Málaga right-back, Iván Calero. We talked about his time at Málaga so far, playing without fans, VAR, Escassi apparently not being scary and his time spent with the likes of Diego Simeone, Steve McLaren and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.
Calm in a Storm
As thunder and lightning hammered the Costa del Sol, all was calm on the pitch at La Rosaleda. Málaga put in a composed performance against promotion chasing Mallorca and very much deserved their 1-1 draw. We look back on us getting a penalty for only the second time this season, the brilliance of Juan Soriano and the guy with the Mini name, but the big talent. Plus, we look ahead to our game against Oviedo next week, Redbird’s investment in Málaga CF and who we want to get promoted from Segunda B and join us in the league next season.
A Great Listen!
First rate podcast, from a great bunch of lads with a clear love of Malaga CF. Great for all those getting into watching the mighty Malaga.
