    Episode 29 | Interview Dr Ghazala Aziz-Scott | Men's Health

In this episode we talk to Dr Ghazala Aziz-Scott. More about Dr Aziz-Scott I have been an NHS General Practitioner for over 2 decades in a large multidisciplinary group practice in West London, and I have extensive experience in using bioidentical hormones within the functional medicine approach to treating hormone conditions, such as perimenopause, menopause, andropause, HPA (adrenal) axis dysfunction and thyroid disorders. I am an expert in tailoring hormone treatments in a range of formulations to provide individualised treatment regimes for patients. My scientific training has been rigorous, having completed my undergraduate degree from the University of Cambridge. I was awarded a prize scholarship in Physiology after my 1st year and graduated with a Masters in Neuroscience, Medical Ethics and Law. I transferred to New College, University of Oxford for my clinical training where I also completed my specialist GP training scheme, gaining membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners  (MRCGP) in 1995. I became a partner in General Practice in 1998, and am a highly experienced clinician in the full spectrum of the human condition. Working with a diverse population for this length of time, I have witnessed at first hand the multifactorial nature of what causes ill health, the interplay in a patient’s life and the importance of continuity of care. I have a particular interest in how adverse childhood events and trauma impact our neurobiology and subsequent health, furthering my training in this area. The mind-body connection constantly fascinates me. The holistic approach to treating patients is one to which I have always been drawn. I have a natural curiosity about a patient’s personal story with respect to how physical, psychological and spiritual dimensions impact the experience of health and wellness. I believe in the individualised approach and that trust, empathy and communication are the foundations of an effective consultation. Patients need to be empowered to understand their own narrative and work in partnership for optimal health.
