at McMaster University, in Hamilton, Ontario. He has held visiting
appointments at universities in Jerusalem, Shanghai, Istanbul, and Hong
Kong, and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada. He is the author
of Empiricisms and Vanishing Into Things: Knowledge in Chinese Tradition.

David Edmonds is a British philosopher, and a radio feature maker at the BBC World Service. He studied at Oxford University, has a PhD in philosophy from the Open University and has held fellowships at the University of Chicago and the University of Michigan. Edmonds is the author of Caste Wars: A Philosophy of Discrimination and co-author with John Eidinow of Wittgenstein's Poker: The Story of a Ten-Minute Argument Between Two Great Philosophers and Bobby Fischer Goes to War: How the Soviets Lost the Most Extraordinary Chess Match of All Time. Kevin Hart  (editor) grew up in London and Brisbane, and now lives in the
USA. He is the author of nine collections of poetry, including Flame
Tree: Selected Poems (2002). He has won both the Victorian and NSW
Premiers’ Awards for Poetry, and the Christopher Brennan Award for a
sustained contribution to Australian poetry. His published works include
studies of Jacques Derrida, A.D. Hope, Samuel Johnson, and Maurice
Blanchot, and a translation of the poems of Giuseppe Ungaretti. In this
