EPISODE 18 - LOSING MY BUSINESS IN LOCKDOWN & CHRONIC FATIGUE | ELLEN MURRAY

EPISODE 18 - LOSING MY BUSINESS IN LOCKDOWN & CHRONIC FATIGUE | ELLEN MURRAY

Ellen Murray had plan A, B and C boxed off when COVID hit and the pandemic closed the venues she used for her well-renowned boutique female fitness and nutrition business.

She pivoted quickly to take her fitness classes online and learned new things about tech, marketing and teaching remotely.

Ellen tried to be strong for everyone else; her full team of staff, her husband who also worked full time in her business and her two young children.

She knew she was stressed but the impact of working to the point of burnout took it's toll and one illness after another completely floored Ellen.

Ellen and her husband Jamie made the agonising decision to close the fitness business that had been part of Ellen's identity for over 6 years. As she explains in this raw and in-depth interview, she grieved the loss of her business 'baby'.

Ellen has also grieved the loss of her identity as someone who is fit, energetic and always on the go. In early 2021 she was finally diagnosed with ME or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and in this episode explained how that presents for her and the steps she takes to ensure she remains well.

Ellen may have closed her fitness business but her experience has allowed her to complete her coaching certification. Ellen is now focusing her attention on mindset and empowerment coaching with busy women looking to get the most out of life.

This episode is a stark reminder of the impact of stress on our lives. Ellen's story is a warning to any of us guilty of trying to do it all, please everyone and not listening to the warnings that your body and mind give you.

EPISODE 15 GETTING HONEST ABOUT BEING A CONTROL FREAK WITH MONIQUE SVIENSSON FROM PERFECT PLANNER COMPANY

EPISODE 15 GETTING HONEST ABOUT BEING A CONTROL FREAK WITH MONIQUE SVIENSSON FROM PERFECT PLANNER COMPANY

This week's episode is dedicated to the life changing magic of PLANNING!

This could possibly be one of Gemma's ultimate favourite topics as you'll often see her with her Best Self Co planner and erasable pens, planning out every minute of her life.

Claire also loves to plan, she's just not that great at implementing the plans as she admits in this episode.

Thankfully, the girls enlisted the expert advice of Monique Sviensson, CEO and founder of The Perfect Planner Company.

Monique enjoyed decades working in the theatre, stage managing internationally renowned shows including the award-winning War Horse. This was an intense and crazy job that required project management skills of steel. Monique had her eldest daughter and didn't want to give up the career she loved. So she juggled 80 hour weeks and ferrying her daughter to in-laws and grandparents while her husband worked away.

A life-changing and traumatic loss forced Monique to rethink her career and she saw an advert about running a business from home. That business was network marketing which Monique did and successfully built a team. Realising she preferred the project management side of business and knowing she needed the perfect planner to help her, she couldn't find the right stationery she needed so went about designing her own!

Monique and her husband have made The Perfect Planner Company the go-to tool for busy network marketers, business owners and parents. They have partnered with organisations to create white label bespoke planners using their planning models and methods as outlined between the pages of their beautifully designed hardback planners and dedicated planning pads.

Join us as we hear all about Monique's life trying to have it all, losing so much more than she ever thought possible but building her life and business back with the help of her planning skills (and a label maker!).

EPISODE 14 - GETTING HONEST ABOUT SPINNING PLATES, TIME MANAGEMENT & JUGGLING BALLS!

EPISODE 14 - GETTING HONEST ABOUT SPINNING PLATES, TIME MANAGEMENT & JUGGLING BALLS!

Claire & Gem talk about managing life, as a mum, wife, daughter, friend, sister, business woman, puppy nan, motorcross mum and much more.

In this episode Claire & Gem share their experiences of how they manage their time or not!!

Sometime you just have to let the plastic balls drop and keep the glass ones going.

Not everything is a priority so why do we treat it like it is?

Why do we not like asking for help?

Give this a listen, we hope this inspires you to know that you’re doing the best you can. Stop, Breathe, Breathe again and again, ask for help, stay away from the drama and move forward

    With ❤️ love

Raw | Authentic | Brilliant | Informative | Funny

I’ve been a fan of Gemma’s work for a few years after downloading her first audiobook. So I was thrilled when I heard she was doing a podcast as she has an amazing voice that I could listen to all day.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from the show, but I absolutely loved it. I like the mix of personal stories, humour, and things you can take away and use in your own life.

As a 30 something who’s spent the last few years trying to unf*ck her life, I know it’s going to help me continue on the right path of building my resilience and good habits. I’m sure it’s going to help many others on the same journey.

Great work ladies! Can’t wait to listen to more.

Honestly fun, raw and relatable

These two are lights and if you like a giggle and hearing what people really think about subjects that we can all relate to then tube in. I will be.
It was a pleasure being a guest and I’m so excited to see what these two co-create.
Grace
